POLITICAL UNDERSTANDING : MISREPRESENTATION
Over the years I have seen this or variations on it, posted all over social media.
If you shared it and donât know the following, thatâs okay. You misunderstood, you lacked knowledge, critical information. If this was or is your context, you werenât malicious, you didnât mean harm.
But, if you have been corrected ? If you have been pointed in the direction of what is genuine and factualâŚ.and you continue to post this type thing, or continue to use the source that has proved this wrong information. All you are doing is parading your ignorance.
But, understand something very important, some has gone out of their way to create this. To deliberately and maliciously create misinformation !
Think about that ? Understand that this is a malicious act !
What are they trying to achieve by this malicious act of misinformation ?
So, to this individual postâŚ.
First, the 1960âs. Yes this was a statement around back then...butâŚ. then technology improvements meant that we could reach oil at far deeper levels than before, thus ending the fear of oil running out. Science solved the problem. Ohh and tax didnât go up.
The 1970âs, because of all the coal we had been burning in previous decade, the smoke and soot was building up. There was a danger that this smoke and soot from coal would block the Sunâs infrared rays and cause a man made ice age ! And no one disputed that this was man made ! It was âourâ coal and soot, human activity had put it there. Science provided this warning and also provided the answer. Move away from coal and other smoke producing fuels. Ohh and taxes didnât go up.
In the 1980âs science warned that acid rain was increasing and would begin to affect plant life on a massive scale if something was not done. Science identified the problem. Science provided an answer : remove lead from petrol/gasoline. This is what was dome and the problem didnât happen. The cost of fuel went up because it cost more to produce gasoline/petrol by the new method that didnât use lead. And in the UK, but that was to help pay for tax cuts elsewhere.
1990âs and scientist found that a hole was being created in the Earthâs ozone layer. The ozone layer naturally prevents the bulk of the suns UV light reaching us and causing massive problems with all plant life and mass skin cancer for us. The source was CFCâs, a gas used in foam plastic packaging. We stopped using CFCâs and nature repaired the damage we had created. Ohh and we didnât get any more taxes.
â2000 the ice caps be gone in 10 years.â This is the most visible warning from the scientific research on global warming, along with many others. And yes, It has not happened and sea levels havenât risen. Yeah glacier are melting, but the polar ice caps havenât ! And yes, taxes have gone us.
â2Câ You may recall all the talk over the last few decades about global warming the end result that is being aimed for is to keep the increase in global warming below â2Câ. Action ânowâ, to prevent the average global temperature rising above two degrees Celsius. Actions were taken. Attempts to stop this were made and these were paid for by increasing taxes.
Because when the average global temperature goes over â2Câ two degrees Celsius : That is when the worlds global ice caps begin to melt. Sea levels rise. The worlds weather goes wild for a decades or centuries before a new global climate balance settles.
So, it didnât happen because we have been trying to stop it happening !
But, some others have been maliciously trying to undermine the fight to stop this looming global warming catastrophe. Trying to maliciously undermine the science and the scientists doing this. The science and scientists who sorted out the other problems before they actually became a problem !
So, this actual meme is one of many that attempt to do this.
Deliberate, malicious misinformation. Highlight an old warning. Ignore the fact that a solution was found. The threat warned about was heeded and action taken, so the danger warned about did not happen !
Now a very serious questions. Who would do these malicious things ? Why would they do it ? What agenda are they following ? Whoâs interest does this serve ? Who benefits from these malicious actions ?
And hereâs a hint, look at the focus on tax, on money. Do the old journalistic thing â Follow The Money !
