I posted this comment on an MSNOW short about a Republican who was LEAVING CONGRESS and claimed they had to defer to Trump so they could make money on a corporate board when they left Congress and YouTube flagged it as “inappropriate”
This was my response:
‘Their super race idea killed 25 million - we are in danger so long as that idea remains’ — American poster (ca. 1945) showing silhouettes saluting below the profile of a German soldier.
The poster seems to have been issued by the US Government Printing Office. No artist named but the design looks similar to the work of Abram Games, one of Britain’s best-known poster artists during and after the Second World War. Games predominantly worked for the British government, though some of his designs were used by the US government and some governments-in-exile.

I always find these 'they'll come for you too' appeals against reactionary institutions stupid when they're applied broadly.
Actually I don't think they'll ever come after white middle-class milquetoast suburbia. That demographic is in fact unconditional benificiaries of these structures of violence, to the detriment of marginalized people. And that's why it's so easy for such a demographic to care so little about issues like police brutality. This kind of rhetoric is only really applicable to marginalized people who find themselves advocating for power structures that conditionally benefit them in turn for their support, and only so long as its convenient.
So telling nuclear-family-man Kevin, who works as an operator at Gunkcor Energy, and Jessica, who runs a blonde hair hobby-salon, that the police state will brand them terrorists and the state will liquidate them is inane. And as long as they are full participants in the system that afforded them their lifestyles, any support they might offer must be considered conditional.
reading isn’t political because some books have political content, reading is political because who gets to read and write books has forever been weaponized by the government
just a reminder
I think a good way to resist fascism to to let people know when they do or say something that upholds Fascism and explain why.
Unfortunately, this involves both the person who's corrected to not deflect or make a big deal publically about it (it can actually a good thing to have leftist spaces where the community can let people know if they've fallen for propaganda so they can get out and avoid it), AND for the person doing the correcting to not be accusatory/presumptuous with false equivalents unrelated to the correction at hand, and to do this strictly to help others and not to feel morally or intellectually superior.
This will never happen in faceless online spaces, unfortunately. The Internet lets fascism infect people who are anti-fascist in principle, because it becomes either a clapback spiral into doxxing or a morality arms race. You have no genuine tone indicators here, you can't just pull someone aside and be like "hey, I think a bit of anti-liberation/pro-capital propaganda slipped by your sensors, comrade. Lemme help get you some accurate information on that so you can avoid their traps better"
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD: WE CAN DO, AND HAVE DONE, BETTER. WE CAN ACTUALLY USE OUR SHARED POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC FOR SHIT OTHER THAN TRYING TO IMPRESS OTHER PEOPLE IN THAT GROUP. WE CAN ACT IN GOOD FAITH. THE INTERNET IS NOT REAL LIFE
