Been thinking about how in school when I used to talk about anime with my peers and the topic would shift to popular anime I’d respond with the fact I haven’t seen most popular anime right now and then I’d get questioned about being a ‘real anime fan’

They’d ask me: ‘Andre, you haven’t seen or read jjk/demon slayer/solo leveling/tokyo revengers/chainsaw man/etc.?’

And when I’d answer that I only keep up with two shonen anime and the rest of the anime I regularly watch (and keep an eye out for new entries to watch) are shojo, I’d get made fun of for only liking magical girl anime. 😭

It was treated like the worst crime ever by my peers at the time too, I got called a poser.

Which makes no sense because?? Shojo anime is still anime. I never claimed to see every shonen in existence, I just said I preferred shojo.

Dug up an old YT account I had a while back. To post my stuff I’ve been meaning to.

It does pain me to do this. But I think I will end up using YT after all. I try to feel better about it by saying ‘it’s better reach, more potential engagement’ but I don’t really care about that, it just feels so devastating.

Completely forgot I used to be a fandom playlist channel back then, I was like ‘why tf do I have subscribers??’ Then I remembered.

It sucks that YT has such a monopoly on video sharing platform sites, I couldn’t find a single decent alternative that wasn’t ai infested or fascist infested.
