why are we here

i was born in spring and had never felt myself reflected in my birth season until this year. flowers still show under grey skies and the days are filled with short intervals of soft showers. the winds are still cold, chafing the skin on my hands. this spring isn’t bright and sunny, it will leave me with harder hands. but it will also lead into thick aired summer soon enough, soon enough

I loved to sleep with the window open. Rainy nights were the best of all: I would open the window and put my head on the pillow and close my eyes and feel the wind on my face and listen to the trees sway and creak.
