My baby boy Kahn just turned 3 and reached 450mm, I feel so proud he's getting 2 rats as a treat.

Ram Cichlids or Dwarf cockatoos are without a doubt one of the most beautiful, gentle and smallest of the Cichlid family. They gain various names such as the German and Bulgarian Ram but are more commonly sold under Really Red Peacocks ECT. I have never had personal trouble with these fish, there are of course a few people who say they have had one or two a little bit aggressive but it comes as a natural effect of being a cichlid. At the end of the day they are all territorial. Rams can be quite solitary fish but prefer a partner or small school. The eat all basic cichlid foods but prefer cichlid wafers and bloodworms. These guys do not grow very big but are a great tank mate for their larger cousin the fire mouth. Convicts are a no go for these guys but paradise fish and small assorted Gouramis are also great tank mates.
Ah my Fav of all freshwater fish.
Don't just like but follow as well to see more equally beautiful and Amazing fish

Here's an Aussie tank buster. Here in Australia we have the best Anglering fish in the world. We got Barramundi, Trout, Gars, rays but non as popular as the Murry Cod. Beautifully coloured adults become one of the most fearsome predatory fish on continent. The Murray cod grows to around 1.8 meters and makes it Territory in highly snagged areas where it can lay in wait on the river floor ready to unleash a sudden burst of speed to take down anything it can over power. Murray cod will Co exist with other large fish but will not tolerate others of its own kind in its Territory. Cods can be kept in an aquarium that is well covered with drift wood and like a PH of around 7.2. Cods will eat prettywell anything they can fit in their mouth but love shrimp, mice, Cichlid food and live food. When the cod reaches around 30cm it's time to place it in a large pond. Murray cod are definitely a great addition to a native tank.
This is beautiful

The Robertsoni or Blue Sifter is without a doubt one of the most beautifully coloured cichlids. Found in the wild around the lower Mexican region the blue sifter grows to around 150mm and is quite tricky when it comes to housing in an aquarium. Blue sifters can be raised from a young age with other less aggressive fish or in schools of 3 or more of its own kind. Once maturity is reached it is not recommended you add smaller fish or other f it's own kind as these guys can have quite the attitude. Great tank mates for these guys include, firemouths, flower horns, Oscars and Peacock bass. These guys will shift the gravel and sand much like the Geophagas breed and will pull up plants in search of food so a floating food is recommended and they will eat prettywell anything but mine do prefer Hikari Cichlid gold and even the sinking carnivor pellets. Robertsoni/ blue sifter is a rare and beautiful must have for any Cichlid collector.
What makes an aquarist and aquarist? Not just his collection or his tank size but the passion they have for the natural beautiful of fish. Blood parrots are a hybrid of a red devil and gold severum. Dyeing and tattooing fish is a rising trend but it is just as inhumane as illegal fish fights. Fish have sensitive skin like that of Amphibians and when people either stick a needle in or bleach a fish it causes severe pain. Some chemicals used are harmless too us but to a fish feels like hydrochloric acid. Jelly bean parrots are an expensive form of dyed fish but require a certain chemical level to prevent colour fading. The chemical levels are what would usually kill most fish and slowly poison the fish. Stop colour dyeing.
Oscars, without a doubt the most famous of the big Aquarium fish, renounced for their personality and character these astounding fish will swim their way into your heart the moment you lay eyes on them in the pet store. Iv had my tiger Oscar Carver for a little over 2 years now. He’s not the most vibrant of Oscars out there remaining his grey and orange with very little black patching but I couldn’t ask for a better companion. Iv had dogs and cats and birds and out of all the pets that have come and gone non have bonded with me like my fish. Carver was a shy, frail little guppy when I got him. Smaller and less coloured than the other siblings I was told he wouldn’t last. Now its the end of his second winter and he’s got a pretty little Vail tail who won’t leave his side. Hopefully he’s not a gay fish and will pop out some kids for me. When I brought him of course I got the usual bullshit story, “ he will grow up into a killer” He won’t let anything in the tank with him! Yaddayadda. Well iv blown that out of the water. He has the most beautiful nature iv ever seen in a fish, he knows what to say to my ex girl friends and especially my sister and he plays soccer with my little Vail tail :D I’m proud! So yeah the fish that was told wouldn’t last the night grew up into my best friend and people can always put your fish down cause he can’t run around the yard or fetch beer but I can’t explain the bond I share with not only Carver but all my other big fish. If your looking for your first time fish and want a true companion for many many years, get an Oscar you won’t regret it.

Such a pretty baby
My fish of the week choice has to be the Parachromis Dovii Aka the Wolf Cichlid. This guy is ferocious, massive, beautiful and an all out bad ass. No fish in its right mind will mess with a Dovii and why should it? If your smart you'd keep it in its own massive tank. Now some cool facts! Did you know like other breeds in the Dovii's genus these guys are ambush predators. As a Dovii moves through a water way it scopes out all possible predators and prey. It studies their movements, when they feed, what they eat and strikes when they least expect it. Dovii do like a dark environment and love a cave. If you want a show fish that has lots of personality that this is the fish for you. Dovii will eat anything but will go off food if it decides to have a tantrum. Dovii can easily grow upto 500mm or 36iches and grow massive teeth that are designed to puncture the swim bladder of other fish or if your unlucky enough your hand as well. To wrap this up Dovii, deadly, smart, big and bad ass. Definitely deserves fish of the week!
