Also adding ideas which I'm sure you've either already thought of or have your own ideas about: can benders shapeshift? Like Firebenders can become full dragons or Waterbenders can shift to be able to walk or land or something. I love your art, keep up the great work!! 💕💕💕💕

Second, you’ve got me thinking about it again and I think there should be different levels and nuance to this, just like there is to bending in the show. like the more skill you amass in your element, the more you can control or have creative liberty with your “magical creature” form.

For example, I would say as katara grew more capable with waterbending, she would probably be able to start shapeshifting and controlling her different forms. When she started bloodbending, that would have an effect on her mermaid form, such as perhaps a color change or spikes or something (this might be fun to draw!)

For zuko, a good example is how much of his body is covered with his scales. This used to be an emotional reaction when he wasn’t trained in firebending, but now that he can control it more he can choose how “transformed” he is, or what direction that transformation might take. Same with toph. as the worlds best earthbender, she could make herself into the hulk and honestly it would be very cool of her

okay this is interesting to think about because then you go into the question of different bending societies & how they integrate with nonbenders in this universe. I like to imagine there’s infrastructure in place in the water tribes so that waterbenders (merpeople) can live alongside nonbenders. Kind of like a northern water tribe waterways situation? it definitely does raise a lot of questions about how exactly the gaang is getting around if katara’s got a fish tail lmao

Oh my god, Dragon!Zuko is something I never knew I needed until I saw him. I love him so much ;-; Now I’m wondering how the rest of the Fire Nation Royal Family looks! I take it they’re all draconic in appearance as well?

yeah! all firebenders are draconic but they don’t all have to be the same color hehe...i was thinkin about rainbow fire and all and azula’s definitely BLUE but i don’t know about what Ozai, Ursa, and Iroh would look like. Any thoughts?
