i don't think this is a new take, but I was thinking this morning about what if the Matrix doesn't choose Optimus because he should be the leader of the Autobots or Cybertron, (not being the leader of all sentient beings) but because Megatron is his problem, and by giving him the power to fight Megatron, is protecting Cybertron from the posed threat.

I remind myself of this with situations like Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, and *ahem*... even skybound Elita. The Matrix isn't choosing the guy for the job, the Matrix is choosing Big Problem Haver that will preserve Cybertron Best at this moment.

Galvatron is back in for hand surgery. He's not thrilled, vapor has been fuming from his gears. Superman accompanied him as a show of good faith for swapping shelves with him and the rest of the Marvel-DC crew and letting him help rearrange his new shelf space.
