wait omg I used to be OBSESSED with the idea of a miraculous WT au years ago when I was a hardcore fan of both shows (this is like w a y back when, like mlb was still in the s3-s4 hiatus)
It took me a bit to find the doc that I wrote this down in but this is the jist of what I had
the afto team finds a miracle box (in my au it was based off of the 12 zodiac signs- not the chinese ones) (alternatively it could be the butterfly miraculous too), begins wreaking havoc
In trying to counter them, the remnants of the order of the miraculous (the border execs + some of the older border members, tmkm) decide against sending out the ladybug and black cat bc that'd basically play straight into afto's hands
not to mention that yugo was the last black cat holder, and the miraculous was lost with him at some point in the distant past
the reasoning for using teenagers is that, similar to how trion organs grow more when used from youth, miraculous holders grow into greater power when they're trained young
they decide to hand out the fox and the turtle instead
side note i forgot what exactly i wanted to do with the whole akumatization thing and if the ladybug miraculous was necessarily needed
they entrust jin (bunny miraculous holder) with looking for reliable holders
yuma and osamu end up with the fox and the turtle respectively. this may have been an accident. yuma has a bit of a rena-furtive type color palette, and osamu is, as expected, green. the names I gave them back then were snow fox and midorigame, respectively
chika, as some point in the near future, actually does in fact end up with the ladybug. i did have a name for her but it uh, wasn't great, I was just obsessed with flowers during that time
some time later, other miraculous holders are as follows-
kitora is the bee (i had her as the tiger before, but this was before we knew what the tiger miraculous powers were)
midorikawa as the dog miraculous holder probs
i know i wanted some other people involved too (notably- kikuchihara, izumi, amo) but I can't figure out what miraculouses (yet)
there was also definitely a hyuse betrayal subplot that leads to him joining the miraculers
i'll add on more to this later maybe
