Hyuse x phantom of the opera isn’t something I knew I needed but it’s so fitting
Afto! Hyuse is his spirit and the phantom because that is who Hyuse is, it is what drives Hyuse as a character and his essence—because Hyuse cares about afto, his home and the people there, and is first and foremost a soldier of aftokrator, abandonment be damned—and it’s also something that is always there driving his motivations, goals, and way of being but is so invisible and hidden away as he has to conform to meeden and hasn’t shown much since he was taken prisoner.
Prisoner, or well, neutral Hyuse ig? Lyrics are focused on his voice and being heard because that is how everyone has gotten familiar with Hyuse, how he’s spoken his resolve—for both Afto and tamakoma 2. Not fully Afto, because he’s been forced away from it, and not fully tamakoma, but how everyone knows him. If that makes sense?
Tamakoma! Hyuse is a mask and in the combined lines because joining border was always a means to an end, he isn’t truly one of them nor has he ever been loyal to them. He is a responsible person and will do his duties and what he’s promised, but that is not who he is. His whole identity as a border agent is fake, and he has to hide behind it so people don’t know who he really is. Hes a combination of his “spirit”—his experience, drive, and loyalty as a soldier and his true identity—and his “voice”—I actually don’t know what to say for this one I’m sure you all can understand,,
