i have to write a 5 page paper this week abt a legacy superhero inspired by a classic so ofc i chose miles, like bro the comics are so fucking good. idk why i didnt read these sooner (prolly cuz i didnt have access to marvel unlimited until recently sshhhh). said this already but it's so true im so invested

other thoughts (spoilers ig):

miles is literally the "i need to confess something" meme

capt america really looked at him and went "that's a child. no." and then let him fight in the civil war anyways, like bro pick a side

ganke is iconic i wish the spiderverse movies would've explored/interpreted their dynamic more :(

bombshell is funny i like her (i cannot wait to see more in the next series issues)

in issue 15 ganke was convincing him to a "popular hero," and miles had NO interest in being one ("what part of me makes you think i want to be the most popular?"), and it's really interesting to see how in the original spiderman comics, when peter first got his powers, all he wanted to do was use it for fame, and of course, uncle ben fucking died because of his selfishness (learned a valuable lesson there, bud). really goes to show that while miles IS spiderman (only took 28 issues for him to accept that) that they really are very different. so similar. yet different. idk, interesting to compare/contrast

when miles was fighting roxxon, roxxon told him he'd be begging for job at his corps (that works with dark/anti matter) and HOLLYY FUCKK i know its not connected to spiderverse at ALL, and the anti-matter used at roxxon is being used for human experimentation (oof) so the situations are VASTLY different, but my brain makes connections oml

miles threw him out a window (we all cheered)

the venom arc?? ALSO TRAGIC. (the art is immaculate though) spiderverse please let his parents live i beg of you its the point of the movies istg he cannot have EVERYONE DIE. PLEASE if rio bites the bullet (literally) im rioting
