one moment he’d been gone, years of trying to escape the endless loop for naught as he’d been erased by the very reapers he’d worked so hard to gain the favour of. everything he’d been, everything he’d tried- it’d all been for naught. and then, just like that, he was back, as if nothing had ever happened. a better man would have learned from what he’d been through, and he had, in a way. just not as much as he should have, and not for any of the right reasons.

he’d started stealing quotes a little less, now. if asked by anyone who knew his past, he’d insist that it’s because he was a better person now, but in reality, he’d rather just avoid facing any consequences that might await him in the future. speaking of which, there were a few loose ends he’d need to tie up, now that he was back. things were going well for him, even managing to have published a book of mostly original quotes! he couldn’t have the skeletons coming out of his closet, now. and would you look at that! his aforementioned loose end was just up ahead-
