Menses and Ramadhaan
For sisters who may not be able to fast and pray during these remaining days of Ramadhaan, here is information on what you can do:
Menses and Dhikr of Allaah & Recitation of the Qur’aan – Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen.
What menstruating woman can perform while looking for Laylatul Qadr – Shaykh Ubayd al Jabiree.
Sisters: Menses at time of Laylatul Qadr – Dr. Saleh As-Saleh.
Menses & Fasting – Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen.
Menses at the Time of Laylatul Qadr by Dr. Sāleh As Sāleh
Menses at the Time of Laylatul Qadr full Lecture here.
Transcription:
The woman in her menses in her last ten days of Ramadhān is still beneficial for her to get up in the last third of the night to make du’a as she cannot make salāh, of course . It is beneficial to make du’a in the third of the night and this is open for the one who is in a state of ritual purity or ritual impurity. So there is nothing wrong with that. And the woman in menses also could recite Qur’an from her memory and could make remembrances. All of that. And we can refer you to the book, “Natural Blood of Woman” by our Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen. Check this book Inshā Allāh [PDF of the Natural Blood of Women available here].
Question: If a sister on her menses during the last ten nights, is she allowed to do prayer on these nights?
Answer: No. She can do anything except the prayers and fasting. She can invoke Allāh (subhānahu wa ta’aala). She can invoke Allāh with this du’a. She can give charity. She can do all good actions of worship except for praying and fasting. Is this clear Inshā Allāh sister? And by the way, a comment on this answer, for all the sisters: a woman who gets her menses during this time – this is a matter prescribed by Allāh. They should not feel in anyway, saddened at all. Why should they feel sad? Even a little bit, when Allāh (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) prescribed this matter upon them? This is a very important matter. They shouldn’t have any kind of objection what so ever. They are not going to be deprived of anything that Allāh (subhānahu wa ta’aala) bestowed of his favors because of this. He is the one who commanded her to refrain from prayers. He is the one who commanded her to refrain from fasting. Mercy upon her. I hope that this is Inshā Allāh, ya’ni, met with good understanding.
Question: Because she cannot do the prayers on these nights due to the menses, doesn’t that mean she misses out on the rewards of praying the night of Qadr?
Answer: The answer is that, she cannot due to a legal permit. So she does the acts of worship permitted for her. She may recite Qur’ān from memory. She may invoke Allāh on these nights, anticipating these nights. She may give charity. She does what she is permitted to do. And that is why our Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al Uthaymeen (rahimahullāh) mentioned that the matter is not limited to the establishment of prayers. But rather to all of the actions. To all of the worship. So that is the critical difference. Because we know that in some nights Prophet Muhammad (salAllāhu ‘alaiyhi wasallam) did not establish the prayers all night
So the sisters who have their natural blood on these days, shouldn’t give up. Do acts of worship that are permitted.
Give charity
Give good word.
Anticipating the reward from Allāh.
Making du’a.
Making remembrances.
Alhamdulillāh.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Make up the missed fasts or feed a poor person for each day?
New: Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Make up the missed fasts or feed a poor person for each day?
The scholars have differed as to whether a woman who missed fasts due to her pregnancy or due to breastfeeding should make up the days she has missed (i.e. make al-qadā’) or feed a poor person for each day missed (i.e. give fidyah) and not make up. Or, is she to both make up the fast, and feed a poor person for each day missed? Over this the scholars have presented their views based upon their…

Let her remember that one day she will depart from this life. There will come a day when she, along with her beautiful body, her tempting good looks, her adorning herself, and her tribulation of men will be placed in a hole, dirt will be heaved on her, and worms will eat her; her beauty and glamour will leave her, and she will be it that hole, dependent upon her actions and shackled to what she put forth in this life.

Kindly reminder: if you still have days of fasting to make up, be keen on completing them as soon as you are able to. May Allaah bless us with Ramadaan, Subhan’Allaah how quickly do days go by!

The Meaning of “Men Have a Degree Over Them.”
Selected readings by Ustāḍ Abū Iyāḍ Amjad Rafīq, Salafī Publications.
From Shaykh al-Islām ibn Qayyim al-Jawzīyyah (رحمه الله)
Translated by Abū al-Hasan Mālik al-Akhdar (حفظه الله)
Al Rahmānīyyah Press (Camden, New Jersey)
Excerpt:
Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) writes:
As for loving one’s wives, there is no blame in this; rather, it is from [a man’s] completeness, and Allah has blessed His worshippers with it (i.e. love). He said:
“And from His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find comfort in them, and He placed between you love and mercy. Verily in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.”
(Sūrah Rum, 30:21
Thus He made a woman a repose for a man, his heart finding comfort in her, and He placed between them pure love, and it is a love that is coupled with mercy. After mentioning what is permissible and forbidden for us from women, Allah said:
“Allah wants to make clear to you [the lawful from the unlawful] and guide you to the [good] practices of those before you and to accept your repentance. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. Allah wants to accept your repentance, but those who follow [their] passions want you to digress [into] a great deviation. And Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak.”
(Sūrah an-Nisā, 4:26-28)

Whether a Woman On Her Menses Should Recite The Qurʾān During Ramaḍān
The Questioner: The sister who is posing the question Umm Muḥammad says during Ramaḍān is it lawful for a woman to read the Qurʾān while she is on her menses?
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (حفظه الله): “Reading the Qurʾān for the one who is menstruating is a matter of differing. And the time is extensive and all praise is due to Allāh so for the woman who has a desire to read the Qurʾān can read it when she is not menstruating. She has an opportunity and all praise is due to Allāh. She is not forced to read it while menstruating except in the case where there is a need as in the case of the woman who will be tested in the Qurʾān and might fail, there is no harm in her reading while menstruating due to the need however she should not [physically] touch the Qurʾān. She should either read from her memory or she should wear gloves on her hands and use them to turn the pages of the Qurʾān or she should use a ruler or a pen to follow the verses or letters without touching it when there is a need to do so. Or she may memorize a portion of the Qurʾān fearing that she will forget it, then for her there is no harm in her reading while menstruating in order to preserve what she is memorizing.
As for the woman for whom Allāh has granted an ample amount of time, then she should delay her reading of the Qurʾān until after her menses and until after she has purified herself in an effort to escape the difference of opinion in this issue and all praise is due to Allāh. Yes.”
