AoS videos were getting recommended to me on YouTube again and a comment on Reads With Rachel’s video mentioned that Milo’s writing felt like reading a machine translated work from ‘detect language’ to English.
And it got me thinking about if this book had any amount of longevity, someone would have to translate Milo’s janky handling of English to the target language. The hypothetical translator would literally implode from how much editing the translations would require, and it could potentially result in a book that sounds better than the original.
Side note: I tried translating the first sentence of V1 from English to Korean, and I already ran into the problem of editorialising the plot.
