You were quiet and reserved, a stark contrast to most part of the squad. Your flying style was much like you, steady and reliable. From the few friends you have made on base, Jake was not included in this sacred circle. Yet, it was him that had come to your aid in your moment of need.
âHawk,â you heard him call you. âComon, Hawk, just look at me for a second.â Then he called your name, softly, almost desperate.
You looked up then, vision blurred from the tears and your swollen eyes. Jake was kneeling in front of you, not bothering about the fact the floors were wet. No, you saw it in his eyes that he was more worried about you, sitting there on the wet floor, hiding behind your arms that were being supported by your knees.
âOkay, there you are,â he smiled. âWhat happened, huh?â
You thought for a moment, unsure of what you wanted to tell him.
âN-no-nothing,â you murmured, hoping that he would leave it at that.
âAnd youâre crying like that for nothing?â he scoffed. âI know we're not exactly friends, but Iâm here for you, Hawk. But I canât help you unless you tell me the truth.â
You looked at him, blinking the tears away. Taking a deep breath, you said,
âIâm pregnant.â
Unlike you had imagined, Jake didnât freak out. He only continued observing you for a moment and then said,
âI assume it was not planned.â
âNo, it wasnât,â you confirm. âIâm not ready for this, Jake. I just applied for a promotion, this will set me back on my career and on top of that, I would be doing it alone. I just⌠Iâm not ready.â
He nods, solemn and then says, âYou have options, you know. You can go to a clinicâŚâ
âI havenât had the guts to go alone,â you confess.
âYou donât have to go alone, you know. Iâm glad anyone on the squad would be happy to support you.â
âI just⌠This is my thing, my problem. I should be able to take care of it alone.â
âBut you donât have to be,â he assured you. âLook, if you donât want anyone else to know, Iâll take you there myself, okay.â
âWould you do that?â you asked, a little unsure.
âOf course I would,â he says without second guessing.
You think for a minute. It was your best option. You nodded then.
âYeah, I would like that,â you agreed. Jake smiled then, getting up and offering you his hand. As you accepted it, you realized that you had found a friend in the most unlikely person, and you were grateful for that.

What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?
How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
