Friendly Gremlin

The Stevemas spirit had Rainbow Steve in a very, very tight chokehold. Naturally he did what every sane steve would do: forcing everyone in his vicinity to join the decoration efforts. In his words the Rainbow House looked "way too bland and sad for the Stevemas season" despite the place brimming with every color of the rainbow. Tastefully, of course.

And now the three villains had retreated into the kitchen to make a gingerbread house. It was under the guise of helping by making a decoration object, without really decorating much. Either way, it worked to convince Rainbow.

Cause, what the villains lacked in enthusiasm Rainbow made more than up for it. Speaking of him, he was currently going crazy with hanging Stevemas lights everywhere. They were the classic warm, orange lights mostly, however Rain also had multi-colored lights. And he was stringing them up in every possible location. Along doorways and edges of rooms, around furniture and even himself. The only place he couldn't hang any yet, was around the tree, since they simply didn't have one yet.

To combat the lack of fir around the house, Sabre and Lucas took it upon themselves to decorate with garlands made of said tree branches. Their main focus were window frames and doorways. However they've also wound some garlands around the railing of the staircase in the hallway.

Which was where Light currently worked on hanging colorful ornaments from a box onto the twigs. He planned on decorating every free fir branch in the house with either ribbons or ornaments, softly humming along to the Stevemas music faintly playing on the jukebox in the living room.

"Hey, Light, can you come over for a second?" Sabre's voice rang out from the living room.

"Ya sure!" Light tucked his box of ornaments under his arm and hopped down the last two steps, trudging into the living room.

There Lucas stood on the sofa next to the window and Sabre stood on a chair on the other side of the window. They held a fir garland above it, which had yet to be secured to the wall.

"Can you give us a few instructions? We want both ends on the sides to be the same length.", Sabre asked.

Light nodded. "Okay, just let me get a good look first."

He took a couple of steps back towards the kitchen door. At the same time there was a muffled "Yeah, I'll go get it" from the kitchen and Dark emerged. Neither of them were looking where they were going, so of course they bumped into each other.

Due to Dark's broader build, he was a lot heavier than Light, causing the poor steve to stumble forward and drop the box with ornaments. The colorful decorations scattered and clattered all over the floor. Thankfully none of them broke.

"Oh no!"

"Woah!"

Light scrambled onto the floor to quickly collect the ornaments again. Joining him with a sheepish look on his face, Dark knelt beside him.

"I am so sorry!" The raven haired steve apologized profusely.

Light pressed his lips together into a tight smile. "It's alright, it happens. I didn't look where I was going either."

Together they quickly gathered the ornaments again and sorted them back into the box. While doing so, Light tried very hard to avoid eye contact with Dark. He wasn't sure why, but something about it made him quite nervous.

Soon only one ornament was left and they both reached out at the same time, hands bumping together.

Dark's hand was surpisingly warm. A stark contrast to his own, often cold, hands. Squiggly blue veins shimmered through the pale skin on the back of his hand. A detail Light never noticed before. Same with the fact, that Dark painted his nails with shiny black polish.

Suddenly, Light felt aflushed with fever. He retracted his hand before he even thought properly about it. Flustered he waited for Dark to put the last ornament back into the box.

But he didn't. Instead he handed it back to him directly. Light slowly took it and their fingers brushed again, not really helping Light's predicament.

"There you go.", Dark mumbled before getting up.

"Thanks for helping me pick them up."

"It's no problem."

Light rose to his feet again as well and cleared his throat in an effort to regain composure. Dark simply moved on to where he was previously going.

Back to the task at hand. When Light returned his attention to Lucas and Sabre, who had been watching the whole interaction, he found them both with knowing smirks on their faces.

So, this is a concept I've been obsessed with for a while. Turning cookies into ponies and re-working their lore to an extend. Most character lore and world mechanics (souljams, beasts, the nature guardians, etc) will distributed together with their designs. Not sure how to tackle the story yet, but we'll see.

Now on to Strawberry! I turned her into a pagasus because of her shy and easily frightened nature. Wings make it easier to flee from social situations, y'know? I imagine her to be a big ball of pastel fluff.

Now, putting a hood on a horse is possible, but I found it a little awkward to do. So instead I gave her bangs to hide her face behind!

Also, the long stilty legs are intentional! Not only as a design choice, but also because she's an adolescent still and I took inspo from real life horses and gave her their juvenile proportions. :3 (Lil Custard III, being the youngest, will take those to the max-)

Strawberry lives in the capital of the Vanilla Kingdom together with her childhood friends Gingerbrave and Wizard. They know each other since elementary school and have been close ever since. She's an only child.

Her parents (I have to come up with names still-) run a candy shop close to the market square! There they make and sell their own candies. Since OG Strawberry Cookie is insecure about her artificial flavoring, like hard candy would be, I figured why not make her family's business all about candies. Her parents' gender roles are a little flipped. Her father is a huge softy with a massive sweet tooth and a mostly pink color scheme as well. I think he has cotton candy vibes. Personality wise, Strawberry definitely takes after him. Her dad loves cooking and usually does most of the household chores.

Her mother on the hand is more dominant. She's the one who founded and manages the candy store. Despite her being the more serious one, she loves her daughter dearly and wants her to know that Strawberry can choose whichever future she desires. Her family will love and support her no matter what. Except for crimes, her mother would add half serious, half joking.
