A couple more of my own photographs with a wider variety of flowers to use as inspiration for some lino prints. 🌺🌿🌹

Two A5 linos focusing on mammoth skulls with the link being research into Neanderthal burial sites showed significant evidence that people were often buried with skulls and other gifts (shells, flowers etc) in a way to grieve and celebrate a loss.

A4 lino of Queen Victoria, was a little bit sceptical of how this one was going to turn out as I wasn’t that happy with how I carved it however after doing a few test prints at home I actually quite like the almost skeleton feel it has. This is my first time doing any quite of person or human element with lino so I’m glad there is a resemblance. (Used cranfield inks and a wooden spoon to pick up the ink)

Flower print series so far - a couple more prints to add! Gladioli, roses and carnations. All individually and collectively meaningful funeral flowers. 🌹🌷🌻

Developing prints with different coloured ink and paper. Went with gold for more a sophisticated and antique feel and trying to figure out which paper I like best - red or black?

I think the red does capture the feel of sophistication I was aiming for and does look a bit more old fashioned but the black appears to work better for making the ink stand out, gives the flower more dimension.

My first linocut and print for FMP. A bunch of gladioli, a very popular and elegant funeral flower which embodies strength of character, sincerity and moral integrity. Decided to print black ink on white paper to begin with to show any potential areas I need to work back into but overall I am pleased with this print!🌿🍃🌱

A few initials photographs of roses and dandelions to start of my FMP. Looking at grief and how prominent flowers are during that process.
