I cannot stress this enough, try regression journaling.
"But how, like what does that even mean? Do I just write down my day?"
You could, but you could also ask and do the following...
🍨 What are ways I can provide comfort to my innerchild through my senses? Try to think of at least 3 examples of each.
🍨 What are /good/ childhood memories you have? The bad often feels like it outweighs the good, so it's important to remember what was good in your life so you don't forget them. I guarantee you, there are way more than you think.
🍨 What are some activities you used to love doing, but don't do anymore? Of course not all will be available to you now, but what /do/ you have the ability to do? Watch Saturday morning cartoons with some artificially colored cereal? Build a pillow fort?
🍨 When you aren't regressed, write some positive affirmations towards your kid self. As much as having a caregiver is fantastic, we are all, in the end, our own parent. We have to take our confidence and path to self improvement into our own hands. You are the number one voice that matters in your life, so you better train it to be kind.
🍨 For goodness sake just let it all out! Everything you're thinking, feeling, out of order out of the blue, just write it down! Don't worry about if it's pretty or not, last I checked children have /terrible/ handwriting! Throw your favorite colors in there, slap stickers all over the front cover of the book, just enjoy the feeling of creation!
🍨 If you struggle with perfectionism or the fear of the blank page, here's a tip; get a crappy notebook. Got one? Ok good, now make it crappier. Rip out a couple random pages, maybe one or two should do. Bend that sucker around, get some creases. I guarantee you, nothing you write or draw will be "ruining" this book.
Age regression is a coping mechanism, we know this, but a coping mechanism can still be a variety of things. By default, it's probably symptomatic and can lead to negative energy, but if you really /reflect/ upon you and your regression, you can harness it for good.
Don't just hide behind your regression, wield it.
A weapon, a tool, a guiding light, whatever your heart desires.
You got this.
