headcanon time! - polyglot

Marina's always been pretty good with languages. She's taken courses in Spanish and French in high school and Florence pressed her to take up Italian and Russian as well. After all, a good little asset did not only shine with physical prowess, they had to prove a sharp mind as well - especially in a psychic's case.

Roman languages come easiest to her thanks to the early introduction back in school. Russian is kind of meh but enough to hold a rudimentary conversation. About a year before she ended her work with Florence, Marina also started getting into Japanese.

Known foreign languages ranked by skill are: French, Italian, Spanish, broken Russian, very rudimentary Japanese (but at least she knows her hiragana and basic kanji)

There's a tensing of muscle, clenching of the jaw, before an exasperated sigh escaped his lips. Fang laid a free hand upon one of his assailant's and gently squeezed to reciprocate the sudden embrace.

"It's been better." That was a bit too curt. Moral support is appreciated, she could tell there's a lot on his plate. "Looking up, with you around. Feels that way, at least."

This demon was a couple decades removed from being used to getting sneaked up on in his own home. Mages' strongholds are supposed to be an extension of themselves, places where nothing happens within that they can't feel.

Well, it felt like the additional senses had been fried by a live wire and eaten a few whacks from a hammer, for good measure. Stuck with a throbbing ache in some phantom limb. Unpleasant, but he'll adjust while he mends.

"Entrances aren't sealed up anymore, clearly... Fairly certain I've isolated and disabled the fault attracting critters it should repel, too-- but it looks like getting those intended functions back up will mean mostly weaving them from scratch... Expensive tools are in storage down below, Fenrir's domain."

"Damn, that sounds tedious. I'm sorry.", was the best kind of condolence she could give.

She's never been good with words, kind words even less so. The mention of Fenrir didn't help. Marina still couldn't help but flinch internally at the demon's mention. Would he still know who she was, even a universe away?

"Does that mean you need to get down there or is it just going to be way harder to do everything without the special tools? ...anything I can help with?"

Just woke up in the middle of the night after having the wildest, most vivid dream. She was young again, peak Maverick years and training with Sel as her sidekick, finally nailing the perfect technique to fly via telekinesis. All of a sudden the girl to her side turns into Outis, complaining about how wonderful that you can do this now but how about we can find a method of travel for the both of us.

He's still stuck and she's focusing on everything else but not the actual main goal here.
