[Text] I love you.
Rine stopped thinking as it slowly sunk in what it meant, allowing her husband to hold her against him in a comforting embrace. She could always draw strength from him when he held her, his touch made her feel she could take on anything without batting an eyelash. She nods slightly as she registers him looking down at her with her chin between his fingertips. She gives him a small smile before turning her head to kiss the hand touching her face.Â
âI just didnât think they could be healed, Cerberus was never able too⌠I just never thought it was possible to make them go awayâŚâ She mutters slightly as she remembers the night she got the burns, the painful details burned in her memory and the way her body flinches and twitches at the thought. She looks up at him with a small smile as the memory still flashes faintly in her mind.Â
âI donât regret the choices I have made, I would do it again without a second thought.â Her hand resting on his wrist that touches her chin. âI will miss them for they were a part of me, I will however be happy to cut my morning and nightly routine in half.â She chuckles softly kissing his fingertips. âBut if I go bald and grow gills maybe Iâll be a little less accepting of those changes.â She smirks slightly as she brings her other hand up to brush over his cheek fringe. âSorry for ruining the evening⌠You should know by now sex with me is rare and full of cockblocks.â She chuckles stepping on her tip toes, pressing her body flush against his as she barely reaches to kiss his lips.Â
She was correct, Cerberus could not have removed her scars. At least not in their entirety.  The protheans had come up with a cellular serum, based on prothean stem-cells, that had worked more than a few miracles in their time, but there were too few survivors for them to risk making that known.  But even that could not compare to that which ran through his veins. The blood of the Gods was not to be trifled with. If a mortal could find a way to subvert a God or turn a God, the army that mortal could create would be all but unbeatable. Such had happened a few times in history. The Gods had to come together to defeat unstoppable armies and destroy, free, or imprison the God whose blood was so misused. He felt the light kiss against his hand in much the same way he felt her uncertain thoughts firm with resolve. But her words just caused him to blink. âGrow - â His words dropped. Sheâd just likened him to a....fish? A fish? His brows drew together and he grasped her hand and raised it to his soft, sensitive cheek folds. âGills. âTis a poor joke, that.â He rubbed her fingertips across the soft skin and fought not to close his eyes in the pleasure of the touch. âWould that we had gills, for mine people wouldst be able to handle moisture and wouldst not be facing extinction. As a God, he could heal his people one by one, but it would take a lot of energy, weaken him and bloodlines more susceptible to the disease would only sicken again. There were some things even a God could not do. Castiel might be able to, but he did not care enough to concern himself. He pulled his thoughts away from the enigmatic alien...what exactly he was....the man bled power but was a complete unknown. Other than the fact he was here to judge and, perhaps, purge galactic life. In that, he was far more worrisome than the Reapers. But there was little they could do about him just yet. His attention came back to his wife. âThou wilt not become drell, lest âtis your desire. Godâs blood alone, harbors no such change. Though I couldst will such, I wouldst not. As I wouldst not use your binding to mineself to get what I want. I hath lightened thine compulsion to please me  as much as âtis possible. Verily, I do not wish to subvert thine free will.â She was bound to him by blood. She belonged to him, as did any warrior angels he would create. With that came absolute power, which some Gods abused. His pantheon was not as bad as other pantheons and due to growing up as Hunter, he knew what it felt like to be controlled. He had a perspective most Gods lacked. He, alone, stood athwart the pantheon. A rebel among Gods. Whether that would give him strength or cost him everything, only time would tell. He welcomed the feel of her body pressed to his and lowered down to ease in her lips reaching his.Â
