dark  chao   ?   /   is  that  what  that  thing  is   ?   you  were  deep  in  thought  about   /   nothing  in  particular   (   as  you  always  seem  to  be  doing  these  days  anyways   ).   you  didn’t  really  even  notice  the  thing  was  even  near  you   /   you  give  the  dark  chao  a  blank  stare.   try  as  you  might   /   it  doesn’t  even  trigger  a   memory.   nor  do  you  have  any  idea  of  what  it  is   /   odd   (   usually  the  remaining  feelings  of  your  forgotten  memories  still  linger   /   but   ,   you’ve  never  even  heard  of  a  chao  til  now   /   well   ,   that’s  what  you’re  going  to  assume  anyways   ).

you  feel  like  your  falling   /   being  consumed  by  this  black  hole.   it  eats  up  this  flickering   /   pathetic  light  of  yours.   as  you  fall  deeper   &   deeper  into  this  abyss   /   your  surrounded  by  a  flame.   engulfing  you   /   burning  away  at  your  memories   (   it  scorches  the  tips  of  your  furs   &   you  do  not  flinch   /   it  was  a  strange  comfort   /   like  coming  home  after  a  long  time   ).   though  the  fire  turns  your  memories  to  ash   /   you  did  not  care.   you  felt  alone   /   &   the  fire  was  your  only  company.   you  could  of  died   &   melted  away  with  all  your  memories  for  all  you  cared   /   to  have  become  a  forgotten  memory  in  time   (   like  a  lonely  star   /   in  the  vastness  of  space   /   never  heard  or  seen  of   /   dying   ).   a  distorted  voice  in  the  darkest  corner  of  your  mind   /   it  speaks  out  to  you   (   but  you  are  not  a  shooting  star   /   you  do  not  die  tonight   ). 

before  your  mind  could  process  anything  else   /   your  golden  eyes  open  to  a  beautiful  starry  night   (   to  a  gentle  wind  embracing  your  face   /   laying  yourself  against  the  grass  that  sways   &   dances  with  the  wind   ).   you  wake  up  to  a  head  ache   /   something  pounding  against  your  head.   where  are  you   ?   /   you  start  to  wonder.   your  headache  starts  to  feel  worse  as  you  try  to  think  about  anything  that  happened  previously   /   everything  is  coming  up  in  blanks.   you  take  a  deep  breath   /   you  try  to  start  thinking  about  what  you  knew.   you  sit  up  against  a  tree  that  was  nearby   /   looking  over  to  the  view  of  the  city   (   it  seemed  you  found  yourself  dozed  off  on  top  of  a  hill   ).   you  tried  starting  with  your  name   /  that  should  of  been  easy  for  you  to  remember.

&   yet   /   it  was  as  if  the  fire  in  your  dream  had  actually  turned  your  memories  to  ash.   you  can’t  even  remember  a  name   /   instinctively  you  rummage  your  hands  through  the  pockets  of  your  jacket.   perhaps  you  could  find  something  in  them   /   any  personal  belongings.   inside  you  find  a  note   /   you  read  it  to  yourself   (   &   yet   /   as  you  try  to  do  so   /   the  headache  gets  worse   ).   an  image  of  a  world  on  fire  flashes  in  your  mind   /   the  city  collapsing  over  itself   &  in  the  middle  of  it  all    (   was...   you   ?   ).
