During our stay in Miami we had the honor of participating in the Bentley Experience. We were driven around the Wynwood District and South Beach in a Bentley Mulsanne fully equipped with iPad’s and back massagers. Our first stop on the tour was to the #BentleyElements installation which featured a LED light piece by designer and artist Massimo Uberti in collaboration with creative directors Campbell-Rey.

AMMOtv: What’s Your AMMO? | Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic | Art Basel Miami 2014
Award winning artist and calligrapher, Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic took us through his installation at the Miami nightclub Mansion. The piece NOESIS is the longest continuous piece of art at Art Basel of which Lex hand painted on Japanese synthetic paper.

During our second trip down to Art Basel Miami we stopped by the SCOPE Art Show to chat with Grammy winning Producer and Art Collector Swizz Beatz about The Dean Collection exhibiting at the fair and his take on art and hip hop. The Dean Collection exhibited pieces by artists that Swizz admires and were the highlight of the show. The collection included D*Face, Swoon, Cleon Peterson, Sandra Chevrier, and Swoon.
First Look: Craig + Karl | Impersonation: An Homage to Robert Wilson
NY Art duo Craig + Karl's latest project is in tribute to Robert Wilson and his latest work with illy for the Watermill Center. Â The digital dedication is in true Crag and Karl style as they salute Wilson and his work.
In addition to the Bob Wilson "OK" cups; as seen in the GIF; illy’s other art cup collaborations have included Anish Kapoor, Jeff Koons, Louise Borgeouis and more than 70 contemporary artists. Â

First Look: Mansur Gavriel + RO/LU for Opening Ceremony

Tuesday night we braved the bitter cold and hit Soho for the launch of CAEDEN Headphones "Linea" Collection at OPENHOUSE Gallery. Â Hosted by Soo Joo Park the party was live from the start as Va$htie took us back with a little 90's Hip Hop and R&B. Â Also in attendance was Ty Hunter, Shaun Ross, Heron Preston, Kitty Cash, and many more.

In April 1994, Apartheid was the plague that cloaked South Africa. Former president Richard Nixon had just suffered a stroke. Rudolph Guiliani still presided as mayor of New York City’s cold, concrete streets. In the midst of all that was happening in the world, 19-Year old Nasir Jones, baby faced, fresh out of Queensbridge projects smacked right into a deal with Columbia records, and debuted his album Illmatic; so it was written.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since the ground-breaking album as graced our ears and is still considered one of, if not the, most relevant hip hop album of our time.
Multimedia artist, and director One9 said, “What makes Illmatic stand the test of time, was that it’s just so honest and real. He wasn’t glorifying anything, he was just discussing what was going on outside his bedroom window.”
In 2004, journalist Erik Parker was the music editor of VIBE magazine and pitched a story about his favorite album, Illmatic’s 10th anniversary. After the article was released, Parker collaborated with One9 and embarked on a decade long journey to create a film about the hip-hop classic, Nas: Time is Illmatic was born.
The first interview the media makers conducted for the film was with Nas’ father Olu Dara Jones and they realized their story had the potential to transcend and become much more than their original concept of a celebratory piece of the album; they had a generational story which included the Jones’ family history, Blues music and culture which all ultimately had a part in the genius that became Illmatic.
“We hope to make this the best film that we could which would represent the story of Illmatic in the best way we knew how.” Writer and producer Erik Parker said. “Illmatic wasn’t just an album,” he continues, “It wasn’t just a piece of art, it was a document that represented a generation of people that didn’t just speak to us, but spoke for us to a larger audience.”
Parker and One9 didn’t want their film to be just another hip- hop documentary, too many films have been made regarding just the genre. They yearned to create something that resonated with audiences and touched on topics that are frustratingly still issues today, such as problems with the prison systems, housing, and gun violence in inner cities.
One9 stated, “Queensbridge represents what’s going on in Chicago, what’s going on in Detroit, What’s going on in DC, What’s going on in Ferguson. As we developed as filmmakers and became more conscious about the impact we can have, we realized we can’t just limit it to the music.”
Parker added, “Because Illmatic was made 20 years ago, there is enough time in between for us to understand it’s impact, as well as the social and cultural implications of our world.”
Although it took 10 years to weave the pieces of the rich tapestry that is Time is Illmatic, Nas was on board from the very beginning, God’s Son stated, “I was down I just didn’t know how far I wanted to go with it. I was just watching and waiting seeing what would happen and took a while.”
Tribeca Film and Illa Films are also set to create educational initiatives based on the documentary in high schools, colleges including NYU, and prisons across the country. The first event of the initiative was held on Sept. 29th at The Jacob A. Riis Settlement House, in Queensbridge—where it all began.
The film will feature cameos from his younger brother Jabari, “Jungle” Jones, Illmatic producers, Pete Rock, Q-Tip and Nas’ fellow musicians Pharrell Williams and Alicia Keys.

MVP Kevin Durant has teamed up with Nike Vision to launch a signature collection of eyewear. The two fold line is unisex and will feature two styles for adults and the young athlete.
The NK 7230 KD, which launches this month is available in 3 colors (Black and Noble Red; Tokyo Tortoise and Raw Umber; and Midnight Navy with Tropical Teal) and features the Nike and KD signature logo. The NK 5530 KD, the young athlete style, will be available in January 2015 and comes in 2 colors (Navy, Tortoise and Tropical Teal and Black and Noble Red).
“Since I wear glasses as part of my daily routine, it was a natural extension for me to become involved with eyewear,” said Durant. “This is a new venture for me, and I’m excited for fans to see the final outcome of the product. As with my footwear, I haven’t compromised any technical details for aesthetics, and vice versa.”

Monday night was the opening of The Sound of Porsche: Stories of the Brand; a multi-sensory exhibit exploring the Porsche brand. Â The pop up is located in the Meatpacking district at 446 West 14th Street. Â Monday nights opening was hosted by Angela Simmons and had a cool mix of attendees from Vashtie Kola to Brendan Fallis. Â
The Sound of Porsche experience includes 3 dynamic platforms: The Sound Lab Virtual Drive Experience powered by Bose, The Media Station, and The Design Corner.
"The Sound of Porsche allows us to connect with new people in new ways. We are taking people on a sensory journey,” said Andre Oosthuzien, Vice President Marketing, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “By creating a modern day music store, we are enabling individuals to experience Porsche through music and video. There's no introduction here, we ALL know who EJ Johnson is. The 21 year old sat down with us at The High Line Hotel (NYC) to chat about school, fashion, and what it's like to be EJ.
What’s your AMMO?
My AMMO is the brand new pink python Celine bag my mom just brought me back from Monaco!
Fashion is your first love, what is one of your youngest and most vivid memories of a growing relationship with fashion?
I first fell in love with fashion upon moving to New York for school. NYC is the ultimate destination for all things fashion related.
When choosing a major for college, what made you pick hospitality? Are you pulling from the energy of your mogul father?
I chose event planning & hospitality because I’m really good at planning parties! I’ve always planned my own birthday parties for as long as I can remember.
Based on the trajectory of your current “fame” all of this has happened by a chance dinner moment with a friend captured by TMZ. You’ve now been signed on for several TV shows and will be a correspondent for Fashion Week. Are you enjoying the spotlight so far?
Yes, I am. I love the attention!
You came out to your parents at the age of 17 and then to the world just a couple years ago with full support from your family. Some young men do not receive that type of encouragement. What kind of advice can you offer those who are still living in the shadows?
It’s important that you love yourself first and foremost. Second, it’s incredibly important to surround yourself with loving friends or family or both. Not all families approve of their children coming out which breaks my heart. I am very fortunate to have loving and supportive parents. For those individuals with families who disapprove, its important to replace the void with loving friends who will support you no matter what.
Have you ever considered collaborating with your equally fashionable sister, Elisa, on a fashion project?
Yes, we’re working on it. Stay tuned!
Who are some of your icons?
Several of my icons include my parents; for sure. Rihanna, Beyonce, Oprah and Gaga.
If you could describe yourself by 1 type of food, 2 colors, and one animal what would you pick?
There’s definitely not one food item that identifies me best, but colors which describe me the best would be black and gold. Only one animal describes me best – that would be a lioness!! Ha!
