Svadhisthana Basics
Svadhisthana is the second chakra in the line up. It is also called the Sacral chakra or the Orange chakra. Svadhisthana is depicted as orange and governs your relationships, creativity, sexual activity. Svadhistana is a chakra that connects you with everyone else but not in the sense that Anahata or Sahasrara does.
Signs of a blocked or sluggish Svadhisthana are issues with the sex organs, issues with urination (frequent UTIs), lower back pain near the Svadhisthana area, issues with creativity (writers block, not feeling like creating things like you used to), struggling with over and under eating, relationship issues (not wanting to engage in fluid emotions, feeling like relationships are a hassle/aren't worth it, and things similar to that), feeling like you are undeserving of pleasure and/or fun, needing strict or rigid schedules due to a fear of exploring fluid emotions (NOT to be confused with needing strict or rigid schedules due to neurodiversity)
Signs of an over-open or irritated Svadhisthana are issues with the same physical issues as a blocked Svadhisthana but you'll experience issues with prioritizing play/fun over work (again not due to neurodiversity), unable to stick to a schedule (not due to neurodiversity), being codependent/dependent on other people you are in a relationship, feeling like you need to be in a relationship to be satisfied or happy, feeling like you need others to be happy, and things similar.
You can work on healing and balancing your Svadhisthana by eating orange foods (blocked and sluggish Svadhisthanas), eating blue foods (over open and irritated Svadhistanas), wearing orange (blocked and sluggish Svadhisthanas), wearing blue (over open and irritated Svadhisthanas), chanting Vam (the root word for Svadhisthana), doing yoga poses that are hip openers (Goddess Pose, reversed Triangle Pose, Triangle Pose, etc), meditating with the intention of balancing and centering your Svadhisthana, using orange crystals (Amber, Carnelian, Citrine, etc) for blocked and sluggish Svadhisthanas, and using blue crystals (blue lace agate, blue topaz, lapis lazuli) or clear quartz for over open or irritated Svadhisthanas.
Chakra healing and chakra work and energy work in general is a very personal experience. You can mix and match these tools to heal and balance Svadhisthana to personalize your journey through the chakras. Always listen to your body and intuition. Never do practices that don't sit right with you.
