From my muggle "Modern" College AU - His Dumbest Idea Yet
(Mental Dabble about Imelda Reyes in this muggle modern day college AU)
Imelda Reyes is a soccer player in my modern au, "His Dumbest Idea Yet".
Imelda Reyes's Story:
Daughter and Granddaughter of Spanish World Cup soccer players, when her mother was expecting her, both her father and grandfather prayed for the newest Reyes to continue their legacy in soccer.
They forget to mention the gender.
To the surprise to both her father and grandfather, the newest addition to the Reyes family line was a girl. A preemie newborn, her mother named her Imelda, a name that meant "warrior" or "all-encompassing fighter" in hopes that her name would give her daughter strength to grow strong while in the NICU.
Her father didn't have much time to be disappointed in having a daughter instead of a son to continue his soccer legacy after she was born weeks early. Legacy went out the window for both father and grandfather at her early arrival. Once Imelda graduated from the NICU and was allowed to go home, any thoughts about raising the next world cup futbolista went out of both male Reyes's heads. They were just happy to have the newest Reyes become a healthy baby who continued to grow well and strong.
Imelda wasn't expected to be some big shot soccer player like her father or grandfather. Born in the early 90s, there wasn't much weight in the women's world cup back then. However, both father and grandfather Reyes noted how good Imelda was with a ball between her feet while she was in preschool and then kindergarten playing with the other kids. Even at a young age, both Reyes spotted the skills the youngest Reyes had quickly picked up from playing with her father and grandfather. Her elementary school years was spent in Scotland where her dad played for a professional league as she played in a co-ed league. She went to Hogwarts Academy for her secondary schooling in London around the same time her father was transferred to different team down south in England.
In Hogwarts Academy, Imelda was one of the best soccer players in the school that she managed to make her way into the men's soccer team and not only managed to keep up with the boys, but even surpass some of them as well. She ends up playing as second striker and rumors around the school goes that she being recruited by both the Scottish and Spanish women's teams for the women's world cup.
Imelda doesn't confirm or deny said rumors.
She eventually does play for the Selección Española de Fútbol like her father and grandfather before her, fulfilling both her father and grandfather's dreams of having a Reyes continue their futbolista legacy in her. When she's not playing in the world cup, she's in the US, playing in the NWSL (National Women Soccer League) and has one of the highest salaries in the league.
Both her father and grandfather work in the background, promoting Women's soccer/futbol leagues, believing it is unfair for women to not have the same recognition or pay as men in sports after seeing the barriers Imelda have to fight to be respected on the same levels as them just because of her gender.

Relationship to Sebastian Sallow in "His Dumbest Idea Yet":
As far as her role in "His Dumbest Idea Yet", Imelda and Sebastian befriended each other when they both played football for the school. Sebastian is one of the few boys that actually accepted Imelda into the boys' team before Imelda earned their respect after their first match where she ensured the winning goal.
Their friendship comes from mutual respect and understanding of being misjudged and belittled (Imelda from her male peers and Sebastian from his uncle). To Sebastian, Imelda is like having another sister. Meaner than Anne (to his surprise) but also more focused than his sister, Imelda is one of his closest female friends Sebastian ever had outside of Anne before meeting Iñaki. To Imelda, Sebastian reminded her of a younger cousin she has in Spain but only older since both her cousin and Sebastian have similar likes and dislikes.
The two did date out of peer pressure but the sole date they had only enforced how they both saw each other as a sibling from another parent. However, if there was ever a "plus-one" event and neither of them had dates, Sebastian and Imelda would go together as friends.
They both function as each other's wingmen too when they're older as well as a decoder for the opposite sex. They were also the other's first person they came out to when they each realized they were bi when they were teens.
Imelda also pushes Sebastian to be better and do what scares him if its something he wants in life. Sebastian pushes Imelda to take breaks and have fun.
Both Sebastian and Imelda love each other like family, see each other as siblings and Sebastian is grateful as heck to have found another Scottish kin in Imelda (and yes, he is disappointed that Imelda didn't join Scotland's Woman National Team and went to represent Spain instead).

Relationship to Anne Sallow in "His Dumbest Idea Yet":
The two girls don't get along too well, mainly because Anne doesn't like sharing her twin (despite what she says) before she got sick and had to leave Hogwarts Academy. After Anne's illness, Anne feels less dislike and more appreciation towards Imelda for watching over her brother while she gone but it doesn't mean she doesn't dislike Imelda.
And yes, Anne has some attachment issues with Sebastian, not just because they are twins but because the only ones who really looked after her and Sebastian after their parent's death were just each other. Anne hates the idea that she's being replaced by other people since before, it was only just Sebastian and Anne.
Imelda doesn't hate Anne, she feels indifferent to her but it does start to dip into dislike when she notes how more frequently Anne starts to side with Solomon Sallow and not take more time to consider's Sebastian's perspective. Imelda is protective over Sebastian and is annoyed at Anne thinking the only one who could look after Sebastian is just his twin. She does try to remember Anne's illness is what made her grouchier than before, but to Imelda, its hard to be nice to the girl who is slowly thinking more like her uncle rather than herself the longer Anne is sick and away in Scotland.

Relationship to Ominis Gaunt in "His Dumbest Idea Yet":
Imelda is full out mean to Ominis and tries to convince him to ask his crush, Anne, out. At least if, in her mind, if Anne is with Ominis, maybe Anne will listen more than just her uncle while Anne is sick. However don't pity Ominis, he sasses Imelda right back. Their spats make each other's day.
The two have a mutual respect towards each other and they both see themselves on the same team.

Relationship to Iñaki Martinez Cariaga in "His Dumbest Idea Yet":
Imelda wants to meet the girl who made Sebastian feel insecure in himself because of how hard he fell for this girl. She is also annoyed by Iñaki with how often Sebastian yaps on about her to Imelda that at this point, Imelda feels like she knows who the heck this girl is and what she even eats for breakfast. She does enjoy hearing how Iñaki tends to spar or even knock Sebastian's cockiness down a peg enough for him to crawl to Imelda for help to stay ahead in Spanish class
Imelda still hold the fact he took French over Spanish in secondary over his head as he tries to learn Spanish from her to try to impress Iñaki. But overall, Imelda likes Sebastian's new crush with how Iñaki pushes Sebastian to be better and how she makes him feel as well as pointing out to him how Iñaki definitely has a crush on him and pushes him to ask her out.
One thing is for certain, Imelda WILL meet Iñaki, if only to know who's this girl is. This girl that has Sebastian wrapped around her finger and doesn't even know it.
Imelda wants the tea.

Somethings I needed to write since I had a hard time sleeping earlier after traveling and eating too much after I got back home. I had Imelda on my mine for a bit on who she was in this fic and how does she relate to everyone in this AU version.
Anyhow, my belly feels better, so bed time!
