SUNSHINE.

               ❝ all the boys eyeing me down wondering when i’ll let you go so they can dance with you, for starters, ❞ he teased, tossing her a wide smile. he bumped her lightly with his shoulder. ❝ i love having you in my life too, ‘mels. ❞ it was nice to feel pure joy and laughter as he continued to move to the song, dragging her arms up to his height to ‘ dance ’ along with him – it was nice to feel loose. ❝ ya just gotta THROW yourself into it – let the music take you. let your body guide you, ❞ he instructed with a tone of mock-seriousness.

“ if we bat our eyes and ask NICELY i doubt dumbledore will be able to resist us! perhaps a compliment and some lemon drops will make him even more tempted to adherre to our wishes? ”

“Unfortunate to think how we can just bore of something so quickly. Then again, a ball a month might be more than what we can handle. Once a year sounds great until you remember that this is your first and last one, the misfortunes of growing up, I suppose.”

                ❝ no wonder you have all the boys running for you, ❞ he teased. ❝ though i can assure you that none of them will reach you without a bit of interference on my end. ❞ he raised his glass as though this were a promise, though he was only HALF teasing – he would let amelia lead her own love life, but his protective nature would always leaving him lurking on the sidelines. ❝ a’ight: TWO dances then. just for you. ❞ he grinned, placing his glass down on the nearest table. ❝ okay, first lesson, then: it’s all in the hips. ya just gotta let loose, have FUN. ❞

“ GRAPES … ?       okay , nope , i’m not even going to ask . don’t need to  (  or want to  )  know what you guys been doing with grapes .           although , i always knew that remus is into some kinks .  “ she teased 

“ PERHAPS NOT ,       but he did take her so there’s that . a little disappointing , i guess .  “

      ‘ it’s nothing  BIZARRE .      we simply try to catch them with our mouths .                              a riveting game ,  really .  ’

      ❝  you look great ames  ❞  remus assures her, balancing two cups of punch in his hand as he finds her in the crowd once more.  ❝  i think you’ve got a good chance, dumbledore seems ready to throw another one next week with very little persuasion  ❞

                ❝ i was about to go off at you there but DAMN, you really redeemed yourself. you’re certainly right – no one could ever dance as amazing as i. ❞ he laughed light-heartedly, attempting to shift his focus away from his relationship ( or lack thereof ) with alice. ❝ nah, she should have fun. i told her to save a dance for me, though, so i won’t leave until i get that dance, a’ight? ❞ he grinned again, offering her a playful wink. ❝ i’ve been told i’m an amazing teacher, by the way. ❞

“  IF IT IS REMUS , THEN I DON’T FEEL BAD           for taking you away . although you two would make an ADORABLE pair . studious  &  definitely not up to no good .  “  

“  amelia bones , are you trying to get me to admit something ?          YES , he is quite SPECIAL , but he is also here with someone else .  “

     ‘  HE CAN FEND FOR HIMSELF .      though i certainly hope there’s an alarmingly lack of grapes tonight .      PERHAPS .  is it working ?           will i be able to get  DORCAS MEADOWES  to confess ?  ’

“I mean there is an alternative of course, that just involves you getting rich and having your own balls as often you would like to have them. How about it?”

                ❝ merlin, i HOPE not. this music’s great. i’ll make the kids listen to it whether they like it or not. ❞ he smiled at the flower, proud that he’d managed to find the last minute addition in the greenhouses. ❝ oh why thank you. ❞ at her question, he faltered – only for a moment but surely noticeable. ❝ we’re great. we came as friends, so i’m sure she’s off seducing other guys somewhere. she looks great, though. ❞ his smile quickly returned, producing a small chuckle at the sound of her boisterous laugh. ❝ oooh, i don’t know about that ‘mels. the art of the DAD DANCE is very difficult to master. but i’ll certainly try. ❞

“ IS THAT SO ? WELL , MY GOAL SEEMS       to be achieved !  i do like dazzling you with my beauty . is it enough to steal you from your date ?   &  unfortunately , i forgotten his name . some ravenclaw bloke who promised to sweep     me off of my feet .  “

“That’s quite a tall order, don’t you think? I love putting on a down as much as the next person but darling I don’t think they’d give us more than one ball a year.”

“  I MUST SAY GIDDINESS IS A GOOD LOOK ON YOU .        you look absolutely breathtaking my sweets .  “

               frank laughed lightly, grateful for the genuine smile that graced his features. ❝ that sounds like a level of hell, to be honest. though to mcgonagall it’s probably HEAVEN ON EARTH, so each to their own,  ❞ he chuckled, finally pulling out the flower from his lapel pocket. ❝ promised i’d wear this for alice, ❞ he commented, tucking the flower behind amelia’s ear. ❝ but for now it’s yours. and hey, i am loose – as a goose! ❞ as if by demonstration he pulled a ‘ goofy dad ’ dance move, swinging his hips and wildly pointing his fingers, tragically off-beat.

“ IT SEEMS ALMOST MAGICAL ,           doesn’t it ?  “

          frank fiddled with the flower in his jacket pocket, twisting the stem through his thumb and forefinger. the smile on his lips seemed forced, though he tried his BEST to appear genuine. ❝ the music’s good, eh? reckon we got james and lily to thank for that? ❞
