“ ames.  how many times do i gotta tell you that your late and my late are incredibly different? ” jake allowed himself a little eye roll before turning his focus back to her.  “ you don’t need to be sorry, is everything ok? ”  he bit the inside of his cheek, knowing amy was punctual to a fault.

without his sunglasses on his face it was easy to mistake matt for someone who didn’t have a disability. there were times when he used that to his advantage but this was not one of those times. “yes – yes i am perfectly fine, thank you for your concern,” he said quickly. he placed his sunglasses back on his face. “most people ignore me.”

‘    whoa,  whoa,  whoa,  who  said  i  wouldn’t  sit  through  harry  potter  ?!    ‘    laughter  !  jake  doesn’t  remember  when  he  said  he  wouldn’t  watch  the  filsm;  in  fact,  he  was  surprised  that  he  read  the  books  before  watching  them  at  all  (  in  prison  he  picked  up  reading  and  was  yet  to  fully  ditch  it,  not  that  he  wanted  to  ).    ‘    die  hard  is  a  christmas  movie  !  can’t  we  do  both  ?  marriage  is  compromise  !    ‘

santiago cracks her knuckles as she walks around the precinct , jumping up and down as she waited around for a new captain . there was a sense of anxiety rippling through her body was she stressed over something as little as a new captain . she had terry if worst came to worst , however , her police face strapped on the second someone new waltzed in . “ can we help you ? ”

the sergeant hadn’t been busy lately , her officers were nothing but spectacular and with the recent demotion of her captain , amy had been doing her best to step it up . to help terry and be a leader for the squads of the 99 whilst they awaited their new captain . however amy had been skipping her morning coffee lately and it wasn’t until she went that morning that she noticed someone staring right through her , but she noticed that maybe he wasn’t actually staring . “ are you okay sir ? ”

amy had been running late home , actually she wasn’t late per say , she had told jake hours ago that her schedule changed and the time she was due home was later than typical . always on the ball she was , but she also knew that she just wanted to be hurled up on the couch reading a book while property brothers was on . “ i’m sorry i was later tonight . ”

there would come a day where detective sergeant santiago would get used to the different people who would waltz into the 99 , but today she was still shocked as ever . a day out of uniform , on the field , was one of her favourite days , getting to help out her old squad was always fun even if she was killing it at managing the uniformed officers . miss perfect santiago smiled at the stranger as she stuck her hand out , “ sergeant santiago , i was told by my fellow detectives that you needed help , was that right ? ”
