Evaluation counter culture
Overall, I am not satisfied at all with how my counter culture project came out to be in the end. Although I am fairly happy with how my dolls turned out, I wasn’t able to finish the art book I had hoped to make in time, I also wasn’t able to finish my sketchbook, tumblr or artist research fully or to a degree I was happy with. I believe this outcome came to be by my bad time and stress management, as I found it unbearably hard during this project to balance doing two projects as well as do your entirety of work in sketchbooks only for the end result to be uploaded on tumblr, removing the whole point of sketchbooks. As well as this, it’s hypocritical to have us discuss our environmental impact when the process of constantly printing for sketchbook work is damaging to the environment in of itself and if we had done everything digitally it’d have been more environmentally friendly.
Another thing that hindered my counter culture project was me underestimating the time it’d take to make each doll. Due to balancing a bunch of things at once such as portfolio, ucas, bila law and studio culture, it wasn’t smart to have chosen a project this in depth and difficult and I should’ve saved it for FMP.
In the end, I have learnt that I should better judge wether a project is doable or not within a given time
