how do you forget something you never saw, something you never heard? something you never knew, something you never had? if it hasn't there to begin with how can you miss it?
avery never saw his face, avery didn't knew the color of his eyes, what hand he used to type, avery never heard his voice, if it was high or low, the timbre and the speed, was english even his first language
why did he start playing the game? was he lonely like avery or did he had friends outside, did he ever played with them, how where they like, how was him with them?
avery didn't knew his favorite color, the snacks he liked, the videos he watched, why was he so good a puzzles, how did he learn so many ciphers, why did he tried to save him, what did he saw in avery that gave in strength to fight back
derlord knew, in the caos of a mind taken by infinite knowlegde he knew, he knew avery's face, the color of his eyes and hair, he knew his voice, he knew his typing, he knew how he played, he knew he has good, he knew he was lonely, he knew he would try to find him, he knew avery
but he never got to have him
but the felling stays, the memories are gone and there isn't how to remember something you never knew, not for avery at least, no, not for him, he may have the videos from derlords last moments but the conversation he had with him in the void is lost to him, he didn't record it, there is no way for him to know how it was for himself in that moment, it is lost to time
but he still looks for him, he rewatch the videos, reads the letter, tries to remember and
there is nothing in his mind, he doesn't remember him, there is nothing there
but he knows, when he sees proof he knows he was there with him, he knows Derek existed, he may not know him but he will remember, if not the whole of him the part he left behind in avery's heart
a knight, a lord, a hero, and most important a friend that in a final act of love, betrayed avery to save the world
