And it was a Gordon Parks photo that I have seen about a million times with this beautiful black mother in a blue dress and her daughter in a white dress, and I mean they are dressed to the nines, to me. And they're standing under a sign that says "Colored Entrance".
And that photo to me is the epitome of Black pride, right? Because it is this sense of like — "You cannot control the regality that I hold even when you put me into demeaning circumstances."
And I think that's the hate factor. That's where the hate comes from — it's from the inability to crush, and the inability to truly sideline. It's putting all your effort, your history — sacrificing your history, your integrity, your legacies to really trying to crush a people who will not be moved. They won't to be.

The oddest thought I’ve had today was
“Sure I’m sad but man, it’s a pretty neat life.”
“There are too many of us, he thought. There are billions of us and that's too many. Nobody knows anyone. Strangers come and violate you. Strangers come and cut your heart out. Strangers come and take your blood.”

He walked towards the corner, thinking little at all about nothing in particular. Before he reached the corner, however, he slowed as if a wind had sprung up from nowhere, as if someone had called his name. _Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451.

What did the Eye see? He did not say. He saw but did not see what the Eye saw.

Disillusionment is frightening How does a galaxy end up flushed down a whirlpool?
You’ll know I’m dead when I stop buying books for their covers.
"Isn't that dangerous? Maybe I'll discover things I don't want to know about myself?" "Not at all. You'll discover important things that you want to know. We don't go to places where we really don't want to. A human mechanism prevents us from entering dark places. Memory takes us where we need to go." Memory (2/2). Waltz with Bashir (2008).

"Memory is fascinating. Take this psychological experiment: A group of ten people were shown various childhood images. Nine were really from their childhood and one was fake. Their portrait was pasted into a fairground they never visited. Eighty percent recognised themselves. They recognised the photos as real! Twenty percent couldn't remember. The researchers asked them again. The second time, the others said that they remembered the image. 'Such a wonderful day at the park with my parents.' They remembered a completely fabricated experience. Memory is dynamic. It's alive. If some details are missing, memory fills holes with things that never happened." Memory (1/2).
