LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH.

يا الله، قد أعياني حتّى نفسي، فماذا أقول بعد؟

O Allah, I am exhausted even from myself, what more can I say?

وإلى مَن أُسلِّم هذا القلبَ المكسورَ إلا إليك؟

“Whoever enters [the Masjid] whilst the Imām is giving the khutbah, then he should not greet [anyone].”

*Adab During the Khutbah*

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:

“It is not permissible for him (i.e. the one who is sitting and listening during the khutbah) to fidget with his hand, foot, beard, clothing or other than that.”

“Likewise, he should not turn right or left and become busy with looking at the people. Rather, he should turn to the khateeb just like the Ṣaḥābah رضي الله عنهم used to turn towards the Prophet ﷺ during the khutbah.”

“If he sneezes then he should praise Allāh secretly (i.e. quietly) between himself and his Lord.”

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:

“It is permissible to speak before and after the khutbah, and when the Imām sits between the khutbatayn for a legal benefit. However, one should not speak about worldly affairs.”

Prophet ﷺ said:

“If one of you yawns on Friday (during the Khutbah), let him change from the place he’s sitting to another.”

Al-Sharīd b. Suwaid reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me sitting with my left hand behind my back and leaning on it. He ﷺ said:

“Are you sitting in the manner of those with whom Allah is angry (the Jews)?”

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

“This ḥadīth indicates that it is not allowed to sit in this manner, for the reason that it is the way in which those who are punished sit.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"The person who treats others kindly and thinks well of them, will find that his intention will remain true, he will feel at ease, his heart will be sound and Allah will protect him from evil and calamity."

You are jobless/laid-off? You are single/divorced/widowed? You are homeless or cannot afford the rent?

Say what Moosaa عليه السلام had said:

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

{My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me}

[Surah al-Qasas (28): 24]

For Allaah جل وعلا then provided him with a job (shepherd), a wife, and a place to stay.

“This dunya is only three days: yesterday has gone and cannot return, tomorrow you may never reach, and today is yours, so work in it.”

‎Umar ibn Abdul Aziz رحمه الله said:

"‎When you are troubled by something in this world, remember death, for it will make things easier for you."

“Honorable souls hate injustice, even if they themselves have not suffered it.”

Devotion

ما خرج رجل في طلب علم إلا ضمن اللّه السماوات والأرض رزقه

Whenever a man goes out seeking knowledge, Allah guarantees his provision through the heavens and the earth.

ما كرب نبي من الأنبياء إلا استغاث بالتسبيح

“Whenever a Prophet from the Prophets was afflicted with distress, he would seek relief through glorifying Allah (tasbīḥ).”

المالُ آفتُه التَّبذيرُ والنَّهبُ،

والعِلمُ آفتُه الإعجابُ والغَضَبُ.

“Wealth is ruined by extravagance and plunder, and knowledge is ruined by self-admiration and anger.”

“Whoever conceals the fault of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Judgment.”
