It’s pretty easy:

1. Thrawn: I don’t want him to die in this very boring way. In this stupid way, every villain dies. HE IS NOT A VILLAIN and should have a more complex and fitting ending. I don’t want Dave to ruin him, he deserves better than that and Timothy Zahn should do something about that.

2. If Thrawn dies WITHOUT ever mentioning the chiss ascendancy/ Eli/ Ar’alani or anyone else, I’m gonna crash out. You know what this would mean? They would be all DEAD! And the worst part is: ELI WOULD HAVE KILLED HIMSELF! Our sweet and innocent boy would have taken that gun or Granate and end his own life. Even worse is that his parents would never know what has happened to him, he never had the opportunity to say goodbye to his family. Thrawn and Eli never had the chance to see each other again. And Thrawn would officially lose EVERYTHING EVER KNOWN AND DEAR TO HIM! He would lose the essence of his life and the reason for his existence since he once said that his only reason for existence is the protection of the chiss ascendancy and his people.

And this brings me to my 3th point.

3. If that would happen, I have the feeling Thrawn could kill himself too. Why would he have the energy to continue if his life goal is gone. How could he continue knowing everyone he loved died. He wouldn’t. So eitherway he kills himself OR he destroys the empire and then „returns“ home to his family in the after life.

I was prepared to say goodbye to the characters, painful though it would be; and I had been preparing myself with each and every episode for some clear evidence that Tech was actually gone, but that never came; so during the finale I could not believe Tech didn't show back up and with the few references to him that seemed intended to hurt more rather than really provide any closure, I was a wreck.

I kept trying to focus on the great parts of the finale (Echo being his usual awesome self, Crosshair saving Omega, Hunter supporting Crosshair every step of the way, Omega leading the kids to safety, Omega's "We have a Hulk" moment and boy oh boy did Wrecker deliver, Hemlock's demise, Hunter showing up as a 50 year old and somehow being even more handsome than EVER, Hunter and Omega's epilogue talk)... But I was still a wreck.

This year's a bit better since I have had time to imagine and even write out plenty of happy reunions and closure scenes, and have read so many other great stories too. Tech lives, he and Crosshair see each other again, Echo lives and fights in the Rebellion, it is all canon, I have spoken. We the fandom have spoken!

D23 2024, the saddest mini-panel ever for Lucasfilm Animation with Hera Syndulla voice, Vanessa Marshall: Remember the Siege of Mandalore? That sucked. Remember how they blinded my boyfriend and killed him but gave him his sight back at the very last second? That was awful. And then they outed Tech as neurodivergent and killed him? Brutal. But more good times ahead!

D23s, Investor Days, and Celebration Japan. We'll know something this time, right?

A Maul show? Um, K? What about Cody? What about Echo? And Tech?

So what is my new delusion?

April 1-4, 2027: Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles. The Golden 50th Anniversary of Star Wars. Star Wars comes home.
