like i usually think of charlie in particular as more protective of percy because of the first war and yk that’s his little brother (and bill, too, but like you said, i think percy would seek out charlie first), but percy also looking to charlie for help adds another layer to it

Charlie was home for a little longer then Bill was and since for him Percy was his first little brother he was more like attentive with him in my mind

so I completely agree

Like I love the concept of Percy staying in contact with Charlie after leaving the family and Charlie just not telling anyone

Im not sure if it's more realistic for Percy to be the one to reach out like right after leaving once the adrenaline faded and hes in a panic and upset or for them to have always mailed back and forth and it just hadn't stopped or if Charlie had to push him to stay connected

But you know whatever scenario I just think it's fun

I also like the concept of Percy sleeping with Charlie whenever he got homesick during his first year even though he would always try to ignore it and avoid it and be strong

eventually it would become like too much and he'd end up there in the middle of the night

Also just in a similar way to how I think the twins never wanted Molly during nightmares and wanted Percy, Percy normally wanted Charlie. During the time after Charlie started school but Percy hadn't he would end up sleeping in his bed anyway if one really upset him

Also going straight to Charlie the night after the final battle

He'll accept Bill in a pinch if Charlie's not around but he never feels fully like calm around him and always has Molly in the back of his mind telling him to not bother him too much that he'd accidentally internalized as don't bother him ever

That does change after the war though he feels even more wrong footed around Bill

The concept I was thinking about earlier was that Omegaverse perclin late alpha presentation au where Percy's having to force himself to call for Charlie for help but because his brains going really fuzzy and near heat like he's having a hard time forcing it out

But that's fine because Charlie's hearing is actually pretty good

Plot convenience because I think the idea of Percy reaching feebly for the door and calling for help when he's not even sure if he really wants it but he knows he needs it while Colin is completely losing his mind to be cute??? Yeah)

so he runs in to help and is able to and ends up staying the night with Percy and making sure he's OK to be alone and maybe helping him quickly build up a next for the heat this situation caused

also it's not even limited to Percy getting hurt when Oliver got knocked clean out during his first game Percy reached for Charlie at the first opportunity

When Fred disappeared while they were all out playing he not only ran to find Charlie but then held onto Charlie's hand so tight even though he knew he should be trying to look brave for George who was also losing it

Also he owls Charlie about Penny before they get together(though does not tell him her name) even though Charlie is mostly useless in terms of help there

Also yearly panic letters about something Ron's doing with their yearly hijinks

The man in question walked over to you, holding a small bundle in his arms.

"What seems to be the issue this time?"

Chuckling, he grabbed your arm and led you towards your office, "nothin' too major, I don't think. But you'll probably want to keep the door closed for the other patients."

Concerned, you frowned and allowed him to close the door behind you, going over to the sink to thoroughly wash your hands.

"Place 'em on the bed there and tell me what's been going on."

"Well, ya see, I found this gal on my way to ...."

You listened to Charlie explain the situation, pulling on a pair of latex gloves and grabbing your usual tools for the job.

You weren't sure what he'd brought in this time or what ailment you'd have to treat, but you believed you had been accustomed enough to his spread of injuries and illnesses you'd be able treat this one no problem.

"Alright, let's see what's up with you old girl." You lifted the heat resistant blanket from the bundle that had been placed on the bed.

And then, laying in the fluffy heap, your eyes locked onto the golden eyes of a scaley, iguana sized creature huffing before you.

"Charlie," you mustered out, voice low and cool, "why am I looking at a dragon?"

"Well, hopefully to help her out. Now, her breed is normally prone to blowing plumes of fire so we should go carefully about this, but she hasn't exactly been too energetic since I found her. She is-"

You looked at him, raising a hand, "That's not what I mean, Charlie. Why did you bring her here? I know I've helped you out many times before but I've never handled a dragon before! What happened to the reserve's doctor?"

He breathed out a laugh, running a hand through his curly red locks. "She's been out and no one's been able to reach her. Look, you know I'd have checked in with her first if I could've. I care deeply about these guys, I'm not careless."

You pinched the bridge of your nose. "I'm aware of that. But there wasn't anyone else you could've went to? Someone more qualified and experienced to handle her?"

"You were the first person I thought of. She has a high fever, there's swells along her snout, and her wing's out of sorts. I was able to splint it but I think we'd both feel more at ease if you took a look at her. Please, Y/N, there has to be something you can do."

You couldn't help sighing at his plea, freckled face curled into a hopeful pout.

"Step back, Weasley," you raised the heart of the stethoscope, "I'll see what I can do."

You did your usual checkup and routine care for the small thing, getting down to the root of the problem, and soon enough the poor baby was fast asleep.

You cleaned up, tossing out your gloves, and gave the rundown to Charlie.

"Her wing fracture had been infected, which explains the fever and why you found her so drousy. I'm not sure how long she's been like this, but everything is stable now."

You jotted down in your clipboard.

"You did good with the splint, I dont expect there to be any complications with her wing development. Just keep it on her for a while and have her take some of this alongside her meals, okay," you handed him a prescription. "Oh, and make sure you check in with her regular doctor as soon as you get the chance."

Charlie grinned, kneeling next to the bed. With a finger, he stroked the dragon's head softly eliciting a rumbly purr from her chest.

"She's already looking better. You're a natural at this, Y/N!"

"Please, Charlie, don't surprise me like this again." You frowned.

He reached out to you, pulling you down to his side. "Ehe, don't know if I can do that."

"Charlie."

"But, I will work on having another specialist called to work with us down at the reserve. In case something like this happens again. I honestly don't know where the old nurse went ...."

You watched the small puffs of smoke float from the dragon's nostrils as she snored.

"I'm just glad I was able to do something."

"Well, you did take a bloody long time to get started."

You glared from the corner of your eye.

He laughed, draping an arm around your shoulder, drawing you close. "I'm kidding! Sorta. You did great, doll. Say ... you ever think about working with me at the reserve? We were just about looking to take in more pretty vets like you to help out."

You rubbed your temple. "Oh my lord."

He took your chin to look at you. "I'm serious."

and it’s not just harry and hermione that make people nervous of getting on his bad side.

ron has the smartest witch and the most dangerous wizard in his corner all the time. literally. they’re almost always seen in a trio.

but if it’s not them, ron has two older twin brothers that live by the “only WE get to mess with him” rule, and are notoriously known for more than just pranks in diagon alley.

and in the Ministry, ron’s got another brother acquainted with the law and government well enough to know how to work his way around it. then, he’s got a younger sister who’s more than willing to hex anyone who messes with her family.

even globally, nobody could outrun an angry werewolf, an spiteful veela, or a wizard with dragons.

nobody would expect it though, because it’s like ron hasn’t even noticed it himself.

But what if Y/N didn't mind it?

It could be either by that Y/N always goes along with it, probably just assuming that at some point that they've come to an unspoken agreement that they are a couple (similar to when you become new friends with someone cause you hang out a lot more or something but never full on say "Let's be friends" or "wanna be my friend" etc.) Maybe at some point they end up givin' Charlie random smooches, cuddling up next to him more often, doing/getting things for him, and then he ends up the confused and conflicted one

Or, Y/N has simply been more happy/comfortable with the "courtship phase" in past relationships, the actual getting together part has never went well, so they're fine with the idea of them never going a much further, and knowing Charlie doesn't mean any of it calms them. The worry would settle in when Charlie inevitably does want to take things seriously and slowly starts to be more straight forward and blunt.

Alright, that's all the fuel I have for tonight. Don't know if or when I'll get to writing in depth about this myself, but I'd love to see more Charlie content. So, if anyone wants to take off with these ideas, go for it and let me know about it

Charlie had always seemed to me as someone chill most of the time, but when Bill or anyone mentions his s/o or crush, he would become sooo red that his siblings would make fun of him by teasing him how he gives lovesick smiles etc.

"Oi, Charlie, isn't that your girlfriend?" Bill asked, pointing your way in Diagon Alley.

"What? Charlie has a girlfriend?" George and Fred asked at the same time.

"I don't have a girlfriend!" he glared at them and then at Bill. "She's not my girlfriend!"

"Oh, but you know who I'm talking about" Bill smirked as Ginny giggled being carried on her oldest brother's back.

"Are you sure? Your face is turning red" she chuckled.

"Ginny!"

"They're not wrong" Percy pointed out. "You talk about her non-stop, and the two of you are practically glued together when in school-"

"That is not true!"

"She's coming this way!" Ron alerted him.

"Charlie?" you asked, smiling. You recognized Bill, Percy and you could never not notice the twins. "Hi, I thought that was you" you said walking over to him and hugging him.

"H-hi, love" he said, hugging you and kissing your cheek, trying his best to ignore, Bill's smirk. "F-fancy meeting you here" he stuttered.

"Yeah, it was a bit hard to miss all the redheads" you chuckled. "Hi, Bill, Percy" you nodded their way. "George, Fred" you told them. "And I don't believe I know you two" you said, looking at Ginny and Ron.

"Oh, right" Bill said. "This is Ron, he's starting next year" he informed you. "And this little rascal is Ginny" he told you.

"You're really pretty" Ginny smiled at you, making you feel your cheeks burning.

"Oh, thank you! So are you" you smiled.

"Are you Charlie's girlfriend?"

"RON!"

"Oh, um- n-no" you chuckled, nervously. "We're just f-friends" you explained.

"Um, guys, why don't we go find mum and dad" Bill said, pulling Ron along with him.

"But we wanna stay-" the twins started.

"NOW!" Bill instructed, making all of them follow the oldest Weasly and leaving you and Charlie alone.

"Sorry about that" Charlie said, with his face still flushed.

"It's alright" you insisted. "Your family is awesome" you told him.

"Live with them for eighteen years and then get back to me" he said. "Hey, um... would you maybe like to uh- I don't know, go get some ice cream or something? Sometime?" he asked, nervously, placing his hand on the back of his neck.

"Well, I'm not doing anything right now" you told him.

"R-really?" he chuckled, feeling releived.

"Yeah" you said, as he held your hand and walked you in the opposite direction of his family.

"Mate, see? Now they're going to get ice cream. Without us!" Ron complained to Bill.

the twins, ron and ginny don't believe it until they see it.

bill and charlie has One Fear because they will have to deal with it. bill still have war flashbacks of how many times he needs to track down his little brother cause he's always missing five minutes before curfew

charlie hasn't forgotten the last time he told percy "no" and the little shit took that as a personal challenge and proceed to do whatever he wanted.

molly, surprisingly, doesn't believe it. she takes a look at percy, sees his gentle lil smile and is like "no, percy is a good boy! he's so well-mannered, he can never do anything wrong ever!"

arthur...oh, he knows his boy is a menace. percy is so incredibly clever, he always knows how to get out of trouble, but it doesn't stop him from running havoc. oh hell, he knows his boy can take down the whole ministry if he wanted to.

+arthur is the only one who can stop percy when he's feeling "rebellious". he isn't worried about his other six kids, he has seen worse with things with percy and he knows that percy can give him grey hair before the boy is twenty.
