Chapter 4: Churchyard

Hi everyone! Just making a quick post.

I had an unexpected medical procedure (nothing too big, just a surprise and it happened super fast) a few weeks back…and then I had a pretty bad anxiety attack. Last week I was finally put back on my anxiety medicine, so I’ve been adjusting to that.

Happy news is that the fam and I are headed to the beach! Which I’m hoping means I’ll get a well-deserved break (after work being so hectic for the past 8 months) and get to write for a nice, long length of time!

This is the first time doing this! Thanks @anyroomsrio for the tag, sorry for it taking me so long to do!

I’ve had a lot of LIFE happening the last month, so I am way behind in posting my latest chapter of “Automatic.” I am not allowing myself to write anything else until I post this chapter…which I’m actually really excited to post!

WIP 1: This is Ch.4 of my EagleOne fanfic, “Automatic.” Sherry is making an appearance! But I am still going back and revisiting the events of RE4make. My brain keeps giving me story lines and scenes for later chapters, so this story building is agonizing for me because there’s other things I’d rather be writing than exposition LOL. However, I want to write this story as my brain wants it told…so I’m making the reader in me be patient!!

Leon’s stomach is content as the first breakfast sandwich makes its way to settle there. He’s halfway through his second and he casts a glance over to Sherry nibbling at her own breakfast. He swallows and puts the sandwich down.

”So, what’s the occasion?”

Sherry abandons her own breakfast for a moment to look up at him. Her face softening as she looks him over.

”No occasion. Can’t I drop in to see you when I’m in town?”

”Well, yeah…guess I’m used to getting a warning first.”

Sherry gives him a lopsided smile. “If I give you a warning, it’ll give you a chance to make up an excuse to keep me away.”

Leon scrunches up his face, “Touché.” He looks down guiltily. Sherry goes back to eating her food.

Silence fills the room. Leon was never great at small talk. Usually, Sherry would be filling the space with a story or catching him up on her latest adventures, or even giving him a rundown on what Claire has been up to lately. Her current timidity is not something he is used to. He knows something is up, but he knows that if he waits long enough Sherry will open up. She is never one to shy away for too long.
