olivia rodrigo really cooked with stupid song. i don't think i've felt this seen in her lyricism since stranger, because you know what yeah, you are a spark in the dark and my clothes are caught aflame. yeah, i do think you should feel how i feel when somebody says your name. i am a car speeding down the boulevard without a brake and i do in fact want you more than any stupid song could ever say. so thank you olivia for putting into words exactly how i feel every time i like somebody because at least i know i'm not the only one who goes a little bit crazy!

i can feel myself falling back to my star wars obsession so i'm just going to start off by saying it hurts my heart every time i think about how anakin skywalker's greatest strength and simultaneously his greatest flaw is the loyalty he has for his loved ones. from shmi to obi-wan to ahsoka to padme and finally to luke, it defines his character and it drives everything he does. it kills me every time i think about how this powerful unstoppable love and loyalty is what pulls him to the dark side in revenge of the sith and what pulls him out of it in return of the jedi. truly the best character of all time idc

my friend sent me a byler edit to "the great divide" by noah kahan a few weeks ago. today i was in the car with my sister and that song came on; i told her about the edit because she's seen the show too, and when he started singing "you know i think about you all the time / and my deep misunderstanding of your life", i started crying. straight up sobbing in the passenger seat thinking about them. what do you mean they never fully communicated their feelings. what do you mean "i'm finally aware of how shitty and unfair it was to stare ahead like everything was fine" in the context of the van scene. what do you mean "i hope you settle down, i hope you marry rich" for mike thinking about will. what do you mean "i hope you're scared of all the ordinary shit" after everything they went through, and what do you mean "and not your soul and what he might do with it" referring to vecna or carlton or god. i'm so unwell every time i think of them. i see mike and will in s1e1 versus s5e4 and i feel nauseous. nine years and i'm never getting over them my whole life.

i still have byler faith. i'm disappointed will said his feelings for mike were just a crush, and i'm disappointed it's being treated that way by some of the cast lately, but i also think the "he was just my tammy" is a misdirect. will byers loves mike with his whole heart, but he has accepted that he is gay and that his feelings won't be reciprocated. the thing is, though, the ball is in mike's court now. it is up to mike to verbalize his own feelings. i still have byler faith because if byler doesn't happen, the duffers as directors have so much explaining to do. i still have byler faith. i just hope it's done well.
