Violet could only watch as the athletically built man ran past her with simply a toga around his waist (that was starting to fall down to reveal the top of the bum) run straight in to a lamppost and fall to the ground (now revealing his entire bare bum). “Just to make sure I’m not going crazy, you saw that too, right?” She questioned the person next to her. “God, Greek society can be weird sometimes.”

Kennedy kept her eyes forward, as she took a deep drag from her vape. When her lungs could no longer hold any more smoke, she blew out a large cloud. “Somehow that’s not the craziest thing I’ve seen today.” She replied through the exhale. “I saw a guy eat a DLT sandwich. The D is dirt. He told me it was very appetizing... I’ll take his word for it, though.”

“Are you? I have to admit, it’s getting hard to remember your name with your frequent disappearing acts”, Arden teased. “Can’t I have both? Friends that are brutally honest when I need to hear it but supportive when I need a boost?”

“Aw, do you miss me when I’m gone, Arden?” Kennedy asked with raised eyebrows. “You could, but they’re hard to come by. I think you should have a competition: Arden Oliver’s Next Top Best Friend. You shouldn’t have a shortage of competitors.”

;; “I’d call that torture but at the same time… it means I don’t need to torture myself later so I guess we should do that.” She sighed. Liberty’s hatred for working out was obvious to anyone. Her main form of exercise however was ice skating. “Hang on, Romeo does massages and I’m only just hearing about this now? Shit! You can definitely use me as a little practice guinea pig anytime.”

“Perfect. Is it cool if I hold your hand –– you know, so we can keep the same speed and momentum? We don’t have to if you don’t want to, because then it would sound like I’m flirting –– not that I wouldn’t –– because you’re literally stunning –– It was a suggestion. Uh.” Kennedy stopped short, aware of her rambling. “Yeah, mostly because I don’t know when to quit when I’m skating and I usually end up pulling or tearing something. Really? Then you are now my officially my massage guinea pig. Food is also included.”

“I definitely need new friends, ones that might actually have my back in these types of situations”, Arden jokingly complained.

“You can do that, but you can also remember that I’m irreplaceable.” Kennedy teased. “Besides, wouldn’t you prefer friends that are honest with you? Even brutally?”

;; “There ain’t do rest for the wicked, mon cher.” She teased, a wink to let that come across as simply messing with her. “I’ll be amazing when I have some greasy fatty food in me.” She exaggerated. “I have been styling hair all day and I swear my hand is so close to cramping it’s unreal.”

“You can say that again.” Kennedy agreed with slight laugh... but ignored the warm feeling in her chest at the other girl winking at her, even though it was innocent. “Wanna run to Fat Boys? We can run. If you think about it, you’ll get to eat faster.” Kennedy suggested. “I’ve been picking some things up from Romeo, so I can try it on your hands if you’d like? Can’t guarantee I’ll be as good as him, though.”

;; “You should already know I’m team surviving-off-of-ramen. I probably treat myself rarer than I do other people.” He thought about that for a moment and shrugged. “Nearly.” He repeated with a chuckle in his voice. Romeo was used to Kennedy’s sorority sisters at this point that he knew what they were like when he was around. “I’ll keep the warning in mind.” Romeo still chuckled. He nodded, already working out the best massages for Kennedy’s situation. “Back and leg, okay, got it. Well, I can give you a quick massage before the party and we’ll do a more deep tissue one when there’s a bit more time. Sound good?”

“Haven’t you heard of ‘treat yourself’? Sometimes you may not have the funds to do it, but it should be done anyway. Tell you what, I’ll treat you to real noodles. I’ll make you pho.” Kennedy offered. It was the least she could do to pay him back for all Romeo’s done for her... and it could also make up for her nympho sisters.  “Good, because the last thing I would want is to surprise you.” She added with a grin. Kennedy stretched her long limbs at the mention of a massage. “That’s perfect. More than perfect. Do you take admiration and appreciation as payment methods?” She joked.

;; “What are we waiting for then?” She laughed and started walking towards Fat Boys. “How’ve you been, Kennedy?”

As they walked, Kennedy looped their arms together, sighing as she debated on how she would answer the question. “Busy with sorority stuff mostly. I’m just really glad finals are over, so now I can rest. What about you?”

“Hey, that’s not fair!” Arden exclaimed in defense of herself. “As long as everything is exactly the way that I want it to be, I can totally be flexible”.

“Keep it up, Arden, maybe you’ll convince yourself that that’s true. I’m not entirely convinced, though, but I believe in you.” Kennedy joked.

“… that’s true. We certainly wouldn’t be out of place on soap opera”, Emery conceded, laughing along with Kennedy. “You’ve been a fantastic friend for months now but the certificate really proves it. You’d probably be top five if you didn’t disappear all the time”, he teased her. “There’s nothing wrong with whiskey or vodka, neither of us would have complained if you served us those drinks”.

“Degrassi and Euphoria would have nothing on us, that’s for sure.” Kennedy told him with a laugh. “I go where the wind calls me, Em. I’m a free spirit... and there’s also a 99.9% chance that I’m on a bender.” She explained. “Really? Even if the setting doesn’t call for it? Well, I won’t argue. Whiskey and vodka will be served. I’ll even make jello shots. Prepare to have an interesting night.”

“Seriously though, what would you do if the Purge was real?”

“Stay inside and watch the world burn. Best seats in the house, amirite?”

;; “I am craving the hell out for a burger right now. Fancy joining me to Fat boys?” She asked. “Man, it’s like the name taunts you for wanting a burger!”

“I literally can’t say yes enough, it’s like you read my mind.”
