like yea undeniably the impulse didnt come from the carris seed, fitz was already planning it but in that very scene fitz makes chade forcefully take the fool to keep him safe, chade absolutely could've done that for fitz
also fitz's reaction isnt that far off from the fools. hes also grieving and hurt and ashamed
shrewd treated him like shit for his entire life and when he finally acknowledged fitz and told him he loved him, he immediately died to something fitz realized wasn't just sickness, it was him being slowly murdered and fitz never noticed or saved him (even if that wasnt on him)
fitz was literally inside of his grandfathers soul whilst he was murdered but instead of stepping up for fitz like the adult in the room chade asks fitz ONCE to come with him and when fitz says no, not only does he instantly concede but then he comes back only to give fitz hard drugs that obviously influence your decision making!!!
afterward he fully blames fitz for not only his own torture but pretty much the entire downfall of the six duchies?
