why do people take this scene to mean that katara isn’t fun. first of all, if someone accuses you of hating fun, there’s really no good way to defend yourself, because saying “i don’t hate fun!” – a true statement, for the record; katara loving fun is a fact that is established about her in the pilot and consistently demonstrated across the narrative – is a guarantee that despite the truthfulness of the statement, you end up sounding like an unfun nag who isn’t beating the wet blanket allegations regardless. not her fault! toph was just being an asshole here, plain and simple. she even admits later in the episode that she was being unfair, and that katara is indeed fun.
