Before the notes Iâd like to comment: I have it here as an age regression storyline but honestly the vibe is âcharacters are transforming and are slowly loosing their minds together/one at a timeâ. Journey could be physical or itâs just in name only but I like the physical journey as an excuse to keep someone in the game who long should have been take out.
I have tried to keep language vague because âbattle/fightâ could be anything reallyâŚ. I know Iâm biased on the main 4 robins so the characters could go âdownâ in a different order.
I just love the angst and existential drama of it allâŚ
Also I am no writer and honestly donât know writing terminology so idk what Iâve done⌠this could be the ravings of a madmanđđź
A Journey of existential dread
* All team is Dosed (maybe monster, maybe Cult?)
* All team starts Journey
* Range in affect per person
* At The ending Battle (physically) The Team must Re-asses Their Fight.
* # on Team present at end maybe down from some members
* Those left behind members are too heavily affected to be of help and must stay behind and get worse (b-plot)
*team journeys and is largely overtaken by final battle
* 2 of the emotional Leads Chosen burdened must over come it alone and suffer
* Post physical fight there is the science or recovery journey?(+ Science Journey Thing/Recovery Emotioally? Idk no more big danger but many are stuck or in a bad way)
* Cured>post cure aftermath etc
The way I see the layout:
* Duke Physically taken out early because power regression
* Among the following Battles/scenes Steph is taken out due to skill regression or possibly an injury
* Journey Continues For a Beat w| 4 Robins with Batman leading
* (Cass too but as Rogue Ally aka chaos)
* At the end I see the breakdown as Damian being newly turned babe in arms, Dick as Freshly post Robin and getting less and less emotionally helpful and more mean spirited by the minute kinda?, Tim is emotionally too immature to go into next phase of fight, Jason is fresh Robin and is complicated about it
* ^^ the above isnât the way it has to be with characters Iâm just boring lol
* Bruce is at the top of his game and has all his children around him. younger but in some cases happier. and is HAVING FEELINGS ABOUT IT he never looses sight of the goal but with so many memories and what ifs STARING HIM IN THE FACE Itâs kinda hard not too (if not age regression then the transformation is pulling at his mind more blah details)
* I should make it clear that the transformation doesnât fully erase memories just makes things more and more foggy and âkid brainâ will eventually win if not dealt with
* The Final Battle may not be the physical defeat of the villain etc but the emotional reconciliation with Bruce and his kids. How he raised them how he failed maybe?(Could also be a different character emotionally dealing with stuff cuz again this is the stuff I feel needs to be more emotionally compelling/in characterâŚ)
1. If characters ARE left behind the b-plot of them succumbing to the transformation would be PEAK ANGST AND EXISTENTIAL DREAD
2. Also story is an excellent opportunity for failure of body and spirit
3. Iâm a sucker for sick time snuggles đĽ°

I've been thinking about this all week... I love transformation horror and this concept is living rent free. I love the juxtaposition of Bruce's body regressing to it's peak condition but neuroses that had been smoothed over by time and healing coming back in full force and he's experiencing mental illness the likes of which he hasn't dealt with since he was 20....
