Maybe part of the reason for the camping trip is Tim's parents catching him sneaking back into his room after a night of following Bats and whatnot, and he blurts something about taking pictures of the local nightlife, and his parents are like. Hmm. Perhaps a camping trip to see more wildlife in a ~safe environment and bonding time with the kid?

Bruce is ~injured, because of course, and in between his dad teaching Tim to fish or do the Camping Activities he (he learned as a Scout of some kind when he was a kid, or by reading books or something he has no actual practical knowledge of and is kind of bad at teaching) Tim is like.

Sneaking Bruce medical supplies to help patch him up and feeding him and the whatnot?

And his dad is like "Huh, I thought we caught more fish than this," and Tim is just like.

"Maybe it's the local cryptid?"

Because of course there's a local cryptid.

Jack's like, "Sure, kiddo," and because he's thinking snipes or some other ~joke cryptid a kid like Tim probably heard about through friends at school.

Meanwhile, and Tim's thinking, idk. Jersey Devil level cryptids, right?

Anyway, beside the point.

Bruce hiding out in the woods is like seriously? But because reasons - has to keep his head down/Jack insisted no phones or devices and they only have a satellite phone that stays locked up in case of Emergency and Tim is trying to get it to Bruce without his dad noticing, but so far little progress - and anyway.

Tim hiding an injured Batman/Bruce in the back of the camper his dad rented to get him back to Gotham and the so on.

Tim's dad doing the well-meaning thing of trying to teach Tim survival skills he half-remembers from being a kid himself or something he's only read about.

Meanwhile Batman/Bruce is out there teaching Tim actual survival skills in real time while trying not to be found out and Tim is just.

Why are they the way they are and being exasperated by both, and a little fond because his dad is trying and, uh. Batman/Bruce is just an all-over awkward disaster of a human being trying his best, and anyway.

Cut to however many years later with the Batfam reminiscing about whatever, telling stories and such, and Tim is like.

"Oh, I met a local cryptid when I went camping with Jack once," and Bruce is like.

Tim, no, because he thought they agreed never to mention that Incident ever again?
