I can be normal about seeing a sign for a “working forest” named McEwan prairie forest, when there’s no longer prairie and instead a monoculture of skinny Douglas firs that burn every few years, as the area was meant to, just to be replaced by more Douglas firs.

Lamb update!

I named her Arwyn. She's very sweet and wags her tail when given scritches.

One of the other ladies learned to open latches and let momma in with the rams when Arwyn was 3 1/2 months old, so she now has 2 younger brothers!

A bit too early for new lambs, so mom will be getting supplemental feed to ensure she keeps weight, and latches have been adjusted to prevent future issues. Luckily she was the only ewe who bred back.
