A bit of training, using Cullen as an excuse. I took the liberty of using the models’ poses and clothing.

Cullen in a cupcake. I am not sorry. :3

I am awake when I should be sleeping, and as I was listening to Cullen’s voice (yes, I do that) I came across this track where Cullen is expressing his desire to atone for his past.

Here is a man who knows he has made mistakes, and he makes no excuses for them. Instead, he owns up to them, and he knows that no matter what he does, it will never be enough to make up for his errors. But he still wants to try. He wants to do good, to make a difference.

I’m so sorry this took so long! I saw the prompt and just immediately drew a blank! But don’t worry I didn’t forget about you! <3

For this I’m going to do a little bit of Our Only Chance canon, because this prompt makes me think of the Rylen/Cullen dynamic that we have going there. So, I’m going to take it to the time between chapter 110 and 111, where Cullen chases Rylen out of his tent after he…interrupts something.

And since I’m obsessed with it, it’s going to be Rylen POV, but Cullen’s in there too.  ;-)

“Commander - please I’m sorry!”

“Sorry isn’t going to help when I kick your ass, Lieutenant!”

“Commander - Cullen - how was I supposed to know?”

But he gets no answer as he continues to run through the camp, listening to the Commander’s boots clomping in the snow behind him.

Honestly, if he’d known - he wouldn’t have wandered into the Command tent. How was he supposed to know the Commander would have Miss Luna in his lap? If he’d known he would have steered clear - and never dreamed of trying to deliver the reports until the morning.

Instead he would have gladly gone back to his tent to take Abigail into his arms - he’s been thinking about it all day.

“Get back here!” Cullen shouts behind him, but he runs past the tents into the trees.

“Not until you look like you’re not going to kill me, mate,” Rylen shouts over his shoulder.

“I’m - I’m not going to kill you,” Cullen calls after him. “Just make certain you learned your lesson.”

Rylen finally slows and looks over his shoulder. “Come now, mate - you’ve caught me in worse positions -”

“That’s not the point!”

He slows and huffs out breath, white fog rising before him in the chilly air of the Frostbacks. When he finally stops he almost braces himself, wondering if Cullen is going to try to take him down. Instead the Commander slows as well, but he glares at him pointedly.

For a moment, they simply scowl at one another, Rylen poised to run at any moment. Cullen is positively glowering, looking ready to commit murder and try to throttle him.

It’s been longer than Rylen can imagine, having sweet little Eliana tease the Commander, and he can tell it’s taking its toll on the poor man. His shoulders are tensed, hunched up to his ears almost, like every muscle is just ready to snap under the pressure.

“Commander - Cullen - mate - I’m sorry, I really am,” Rylen assures him with a shrug. “I had no idea - I thought you were working - but if I’d known the little lass was in your lap sucking on your neck like that -”

“I - I don’t see how you think - how you can say -”

“That’s exactly what I saw,” Rylen barks out a few laughs. “She was acting positively wanton - after so long teasing if I’d known - I wouldn’t have dared interrupted.”

Cullen simply glares at him and he shrugs again.

“Sorry, mate - truly, I know how much you need a release, I wouldn’t have come in if I’d known!”

“I should still kick your ass,” Cullen grumbles and glares at him.

“Aye - but you won’t,” Rylen laughs. “Because you know I’m right.”

Feel

See the dreamy trail of fading sunshine playing in his hair, highlighting strands of gold as he closes in.

Watch his eyes darken, the scar twitch and supple lips curve into that smile.

Let him invade your space, let his warmth creep up around you.

Lean into his touch, his strength.

Inhale his scent- leather and soap and him stroking your senses.

Relish the glow spreading through you, rousing your body; mirroring his own unravelling arousal that’s born out of his love, his devotion.

Listen to his breath quickening, to the hint of voice in his shallow exhales.

Respond.

Sigh into his kiss, the gentle exploration of his lips; promise of what you’ve been aching for.

Arch into his touch. Into the palm cupping your breast, the thumb drawing those little circles.

Wrap your legs around his waist, open yourself up for him.

Meet the rolls of his hips, moan when his heat presses against where you’re soft and ready for him.
