hot take: queen of air and darkness was an awesome and excellent book that was just marketed incorrectly. because of this marketing people had expectations that were unmet of a “grand finale” and instead got a wonderful book that expanded upon the world and introduced and set up the wicked powers. as a result people didn’t like it as much as it was due. the poor ratings are not the fault of the book itself but instead the result of terrible marketing and poorly thought through hype created by the publisher.

in the wicked powers, we’ll finally get someone with a POV (ahem, ty) who loves kit as much as we do and i think that’s the LEAST us and kit deserve

i want everyone to know that i would gladly sell my soul to some artist for just one(1) piece of baby carstairs art

nothing will be quite as iconic to me as kit being willing to help ty with his plan just because he’s 100% sure it will never work and then when it does, coming to the realization he was the only one who could have stopped him and should have done it immediately. the struggle between wanting to help your friend bc he’s all you have left basically?? and you don’t want him to suffer more and are probably falling in love with him??? versus knowing very well how wrong and selfish what he’s doing is and if no one is stopping him maybe you’re the one who has to do it, even risking your friendship with him because it’s the right thing….i loved it honestly

some of you have never fallen in love with a girl you rescued from rogue warlocks which prompted you to try to break the curse which causes everyone you fall in love with to eventually die only to find out there was no curse to begin with and you’ve spent the last five years being an asshole to everyone for no reason and it shows

Some of you have never tried to raise your best friend’s sister from the dead and realized along the way that it was a terrible idea but couldn’t stop because you were falling hopelessly in love with said best friend and admitted your feelings to them when you finally tried to stop the necromancy but got ignored so chose to leave your best friend without saying goodbye and it shows
