A Light Upon

On a slightly cloudy and cold Sydney winter day S and I explored North Sydney, with a purpose of making use of the shadows and softer lights found on a cloudy day. Weaving through narrow one-way lanes of McMahon's Point, we decided on Sawmillers Reserve (entry from Munro St). 

Surrounded by residential housing, the reserve is well hidden from the public eye and mostly visited by the local neighbourhood enjoying a walk with their dogs. A small pier can be found on the far left hand side of the reserve. A break in the clouds allowed us to capture some lovely shots of the sky.

  Moving on from the reserve, we headed to Milson's Point to feed our tummy's. I must say the fish and chips store next to the Milson's Point station does a killer roast pork roll and fish and chips. 

After devouring our food, we headed to Wendy's Secret Garden (part of Clark Park on Lavender Street). Planned little trails run from the top of the Garden and lead to different small hidden areas with benches and table nestled snuggly for visitors to sit and enjoy the scenery. Decorative garden tools and pots, and plants are placed thoughtfully around the garden making it simply delightful (although it was winter but you could tell that much thought were placed in the type of plants planted in the garden). 

Bring on summer! Looking forward to visiting the garden again when everything is blooming.
