Your sim is supposed to have it when visiting a library lot. I rarely take my sims to the library so I wasn't aware it was a thing, I think it only triggers if there are no functional computers on the lot but having computers is a lot requirement so that kinda failed? It's called the "FreeRoam Portable Computer."

Which like, what else is new? But this is getting scary.

TW for potential child exploitation and death. I know this is a situation where I need to give receipts but under the circumstances, I do not feel comfortable sharing screenshots without editing the crap out of them to remove identifying information--yet the issue revolves around those identities.

I have a facebook--I literally only post memes and keep in touch with relatives and friends.

One such friend from high school recently had her account hacked and she lost access to it. Which is unfortunately pretty common. We're calling her Kay, she uses she/her.

The shady thing is what ended up happening to her account.

She only lost it a few days ago, but suddenly, her account is being flooded with posts she never made, advertising a life she did not have, going back at least the past twelve weeks. The usual "my uncle's estate sale" post showing up in buy/sell/trade groups. She doesn't have an uncle who passed away, but do you know who has passed? Both her parents. Who she had conversations with on that account she no longer has access to.

She is not married, she does not have children. Yet all of a sudden, there are posts about children and her husband. The crazy thing is?

The absolutely insane, sickening thing?

These are not AI generated pictures. These are not fake names. They're real people that are also from the town we're from. Full-body shots of their young (white, blonde-haired, blue eyed Christian Anglo-Saxon) children, full legal names, ages, and where they go to school and their hobbies. We know the father of the picture and besides high school, he has no affiliation with Kay. I don't know at this point in time if he and his wife have been notified of the situation, but because of the response time and everything? It's AI.

Everyone who points out that it's AI is blocked. It's been reported, of course, it's getting thrown out instantly.

Like, there is NO way that this is Meta doing this, right?

In the PSP & Nintendo DS versions of the Sims 2, many Sims worship a cow-god under the name 'Prime Heifer'.

Good news! People who were banned in the recent string of bans have been getting access to their accounts back. It's not because of mods or anything like that, it's because of hackers.

Pretty much, many accounts were the victims of Russian hackers, and EA blocked the accounts to prevent any further damage and to contain it.

Just as a side note, this is standard protocol for any game company to do this, but where EA fucked up (it's not just Sims, it affected people playing other games, too. It was a huge problem for Apex Legends, too.) is that they usually give us a heads-up when this happens.

If you have been banned, keep bugging EA until they respond. They'll have you reset your password and turn on 2FA.

You can go ahead and put my unlocks back in your mods folder, and my plans to get ALL of them out are back on.

As some of us may know, EA is issuing blanket bans for people for unspecified reasons. It's likely a glitch (I'm happy to say that I haven't been a victim of the bans), and we need to blast attention for EA and demand an answer, but one of the likely reasons would be because of false-flagged "pirating."

My unlocks are not a result of pirating, but rather just finding a workaround in Sims 4 studio, but EA DOES have a history of cracking down on people and accounts who have made unlocks available to everyone before and they most CERTAINLY would likely do it now.

I do NOT want anyone to have their account taken away if this is the case because they downloaded one of my mods unlocking the bonus items.

So until this issue is clarified and resolved, if you have downloaded any of my unlocks for Cottage Living, High School Years, Horse Ranch, and Growing Together--PLEASE REMOVE THEM. Take them out of your mods folder and move them somewhere else.

I have cancelled all plans to make public ALL bonus items and until EA specifies what is going on, will not create any more until there's an explanation to what the actual heck is going on.

The Sims 2 Beta Discord Server shared a theory about Bluewater Village. Its landscape and street layout is very similar to the Old Town from The Sims.

Here it is:

Sunset Valley, Old Town and Pleasantview are separate neighborhoods, connected only by Sims and their stories though what I noticed some time ago is that Old Town and Bluewater Village share quite a similar street layout

💡 BV's lore is that Landgraabs made it into a shopping district (according to the Bluewater Real Estate Office's description and the whole neighborhood's description being "new shopping and entertainment destination", so it's almost as if it had just been opened by the time the game's action takes place, or been opened for some time already based on the Sims living there), and as most Sims that lived there moved to Pleasantview, by the time the Landgraabs would come around it'd be mostly empty and they'd be able to turn Old Town into Bluewater Village

🏔️ Old Town is surrounded by mountains (at least the left side is), which matches with the mountain in BV (to be fair, the whole neighborhood's elevation almost perfectly matches with Old Town)
