Soft boi and murder boy

Concept art for my eventual cosplay of the Staryk King from Spinning Silver.

I was trying for Russian influence but I met with some trouble when it came to hats. I ended up with a sort of generic icicle crown but I also tried a design inspired by some czar crowns (which I hated) and one based on a particularly beautiful kokoshnik (which I loved but no man would ever wear)

Friends, Romans, fellow Kingkiller Chronicles fans:

I need your help picking a design for my Vashet sword! From what I’ve pieced together about Adem swords in the book this is what I’ve guessed:

1. Most Adem swords don’t have much of a crossguard, which is why it is worth mentioning that Saicere *does* have one

2. Most Adem swords are straight swords, which is why it is worth mentioning that Penthe’s is curved

3. I have no idea if their swords are single edged or double edged

4. Vashet’s sword in particular is one of the Very Old swords

5. Vashet wears her sword across her back. I do not know enough about swords to be able to tell if this means anything about how it should be shaped

For reference, here’s my costume so far and my original drawing. Hoping to debut at Katsucon this year!
