I miss them
I know you've said all you have to say about warrior nun, but you're the first person I thought of when I began watching s2, because I always appreciate your analysis and because you were the first to remark about Mary getting written off. Upset about Mary. The joy of seeing Avatrice pan out was tempered by her absence. I hate that it feels like we have to choose which community is going to be alienated by any particular show. And honestly it makes the loss of 1st Kill hurt all the more, as a show where we didn't have to accept any compromise!
Always. The price Black queer people have to pay for queer representation is just a little anti-blackness here and there, either in the product or in the fandom for the product.
Obviously things have gotten much better but, yeah, very familiar territory for me. It's also just annoying me cause it feels like no one cares. People can't multitask? Can they gush over that couple while also demanding answers as to what happened here? Hey maybe they have but I always feel like if I haven't seen a conversation happening at all... then there's a good chance it isn't happening. Not cause I'm just so on top of things but just because I usually am following several people from these spaces and sources that follow and report on these shows.
Like I said, I have minimal information on what happened, but it was enough to take the joy of the show away for me, but I'd still like more context here. I wish people were asking about it more.

This post isn't about shipping, I'm just so relieved that the two queer Black women main characters are becoming allies instead of adversaries. The most important thing to Sophie is her job, the most important thing to Ryan is Angelique. This was the perfect avenue to create a divide between these women on opposite sides of a polarizing ideology on justice and policing. But they used that very avenue to bring them closer and closer. They've developed a mutual respect for one another and they trust each other and I'm so happy.

Just read the Supercor- Batwoman comic and I have to say I’m pretty disappointed. It felt like Ryan was a side character in her own comic. Which makes sense because The writers of it where pandering to Lena/SC fans. Sophie only had like 3 pages out of 47. Luke’s stuff was interesting, Camrus did a good job. Again it’s important to have black writers to write black characters or you end up with something like this. A black woman a side show to her own comic 🫤
