I tried an anime-style gijinka parody with some Microsoft Office applications

All of this is obvious but we have on the one hand a Flynn that has been besting his comrades (mainly Yuri) at practically anything ever since childhood and has been climbing ranks within the imperial army quicker than most knights. His ideals are clear and he’s working his very hardest to achieve his and Yuri’s goal in accordance with the law, which he wishes to change. Yuri says himself that he’s destined a bright future, and is supporting this by literally acting in the shadows to strike those who are just going too far.

Even though at the root they are the same, Flynn and Yuri are designed to look the exact opposite of each other, save for their height.

Flynn’s eyes are sky blue, his hair is spiky, blond and messy, his skin is little tan and he wears blue and gold under a sliver armor. If you take it far enough he’s made to remind of the sun shining in a blue sky.

Whereas Yuri really is designed to be a total opposite. He has dark eyes, pale skin, long dark hair, wears gold, black and purple and he clearly gives out a chillier aura. He is definitely meant to remind of a bright moon glowing in the dark night sky.

And here come the subtle details such as:

These highlight the sun/moon references really well as Flynn’s blastia obviously resembles the sun and the motives on Yuri’s tunic (same for his belt) look like halfmoons and stars.

It easily reinforces the idea of Flynn being the Empire’s sun and Yuri its moon. You couldn’t well live with just one of them since they balance each other out and take turns in 24 hours of the day. Flynn takes care of the daytime, larger-picture problems within the Empire’s system while Yuri tasks himself with nighttime duties focusing on the smaller yet more virulent problems the law can’t properly deal with for the time being.
