Water for protection elixirs
Alright, if you live in Texas, like myself, this could be quite useful considering hurricane Harvey trying to beat the ever-loving life out of us. Where I live is currently flooding and I'm sincerely praying to the Gods for the safety of those who have it worse than me. That being said, I'm going to delve into my knowledge of the element of Water in witchcraft and hopefully offer some help to those who need it in this time and times to come.
Thales of Miletus, one of the Seven Sages of Greece, concluded that water was the beginning of all things and the first of all elements and most potent because of its mastery over the rest.
Water is a cleansing, healing, psychic, and loving element.
Water energy is also contained within ourselves, our bodies being mostly composed of Water.
Water is a feminine element, it also the element of emotion and subconscious, of purification, intuition, mysteries of the self, compassion and family.
It is psychic ability; water can be used as a means of scrying or as an object for meditation. Water is important in spells and rituals of friendship, marriage, happiness, fertility, healing, pleasure, psychic abilities and spells involving mirrors.

Protection elixirs using gems
Most often, elixirs are used with gems and that's precisely what I will be detailing here. Sometimes referred to as gem infusions, elixirs such as these can be made for just about anything so long as you have the correct gem or crystal to work with. For this type of work, its extremely important to select a gem that is safe to put in water as you might be actually drinking this or if you prefer it to never make contact with the water, feel free to pick whatever you would like. Crystals can be toxic, they can break into fragments, the possibilities are endless when it comes to errors with this practice so please, be safe.
For this specific elixir and method (as the gem or crystal will not make direct contact with the water), I definitely recommend amethyst (a personal favorite and beloved crystal used throughout witchcraft), goldstone, jade, pearls, or just regular quartz since quartz is an amazing conductor and can replace almost anything when it comes down to it.
You should have a calm and focused emotional state while creating gem elixirs because strong emotions can affect the elixir.
Place your crystal in a small sealed glass container which you will then place in a larger glass container of water and place six of the same crystals around the container being charged.
Instead of the six crystals around the container you can also use Clear Quartz points, points facing inwards, to amplify and direct the energy of the crystal you are making an elixir with into the water.
Leave the container in direct sunlight for +- four hours. (I substitute sunlight for moonlight and depending on the phase the elixir seems to work better)
It is important to minimize direct physical contact with the crystals and water in order to keep the crystal energy from absorbing your own energy and affecting the elixir so you may wish to remove the sealed glass container holding the gems with tongs or a spoon.
Pour the charged water, mother essence or stock, into a dark glass bottle, blue or brown work well. Mix with an equal amount of pure vodka of at least 40% alcohol (US 80 proof) which will act as a preservative and also help to "fix" the vibration. Seal the bottle. Vinegar can be used as a substitute for the alcohol.
Pour a small amount of the mother crystal essence into a smaller dark glass bottle with a dropper and use in the way you prefer: orally - take at least three drops, twice a day - more if required, drop under your tongue, rub into your pulse points, rub into your chakra points, spray into your aura, put in your bath water, spray around a room, etc.
