Reactivity precludes freedom. If you feel as if your inner emotional state has been at the mercy of the people and the world around you, observe your moments throughout your day and see how often and how intensely you are reacting. When you react, you lose the chance to choose how you would like to respond from a place of peace and clarity. In other words, sanity. Reactivity, on the other hand, is like an intoxicant that can cause you to behave in ways that aren’t natural for you. Reactions can be helpful and provide useful information at times. Yet to live from a place of reactivity is to have your hands bound and your choices limited by your semi-conscious imprints. Through practice, you can learn to become transparent to your reactions. They arise, are known, and pass through you without getting stuck and causing confusion. Nothing is suppressed and nothing creates blockages. You can be authentic and present while also being free.
