This may seem like an exaggeration, the idea that one can learn how to properly think like a criminal by learning how crime stories work. On a personal note, let me tell a story from the Leverage writerās room.
Apollo Robbins (http://www.istealstuff.com/) runs a crew of professional thieves who consult for law enforcement. He was also our criminal consultant on Leverage. Every few weeks he would visit the writerās room to advise on the scripts and keep us up to date about new cons and the latest in criminal technology.
One day during the third season he sat in with the writers while we broke a story. We posted the details of a real-life white collar criminal up on the roomās whiteboard, using him as the basis for our Mark. We looked at his weaknesses, how he moved his money, what his hobbies were. Once we were happy with that element of the story we added a Vault to the mix, one that used an interesting new alarm technology weād researched. We then spent about an hour figuring out how to circumvent that alarm. We even sketched out a map of the imaginary building so we could keep track of our Crewās movements during the Job.
āWell, Iām done here,ā Apollo muttered. Noting our confusion, he pointed at the board and index cards cluttering the wall. āThis is exactly how real Crews plan these things. This writerās room is now a fully functioning criminal gang. You could be thieves.ā
Of course writing television pays better than crime (usually), with far less chance of being arrested (usually), so we all managed to resist the temptation. But aside from the day a US Attorney asked us to change a plot because weād created a scam that was a little too foolproof, or when a Homeland Security Agent admitted they were spooked by a security hole weād exploited in our season finale, it was certainly one of the proudest moments I had on the show.

āKnown historically as the Egloff/Fairfield House, the residence was first home to Bertha and Paul Egloff, owners of one of Great Falls' earliest jewelry stores, before becoming the home of Dr. John Henry Fairfield, the city's first permanent physician and second mayor.
The home was later owned by nationally recognized artist, painter, printmaker, sculptor, craftsman, educator, and Montana Institute of the Arts founding member Branson Stevenson. Stevenson maintained his studio on the property, and visitors can still experience his artistic legacy today.
Original Branson Stevenson artworks remain on display within the residence, while the basement studio preserves the ink fingerprints and marks left behind by generations of local artists who worked and gathered there.ā

"As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is not democracy."

I once dated a man born and raised in Paris, France that said his favorite place in the whole world is Gainesville, Florida
Fuck Maine, focus on Iowa.
I actually kind of love that right off the bat the reason the episode is so chaotic is because Lestat is manic and therefore his narration is manicādespite the presence of our previous guide/audience POV, Daniel. BUT. Daniel is no longer an observer, if he ever wasāarguably his journalistic POV was compromised after 2x05, but now he's not a commentator, he's a player.
I also think "Louis told me" "Was Louis there in 18th century Auvergne?" Is them arguing about Daniel reading his mind. (I think Daniels mind gift could be uniqueānot "what am I thinking" but "what have you got way in the back")
I think Daniel's "Is it true you were a stutterer as a child?" Is like. A call to action. It's an "Are you ready now?" Daniel in Lestat 's story is not an audience representation, he IS the narrative knocking on the door. Are you ready to start from the beginning? Are you ready to look, no matter how grotesque? Is it time now? Have you gotten all the wiggles out? Were you a stutterer as a child?
And then Daniel, when not in Lestat 's presence, is A Character, not a narrative device.

Your post does a great job breaking down the rhetorical devices used by mamdani. Have you considered turning that critical lens onto the rhetoric coming from the IDF? In the name of impartiality
(Anon is talking about this post)
I'm game to try that, Anon. Please suggest a comparable example of rhetorical deception from an IDF spokesperson?
It's been a couple days, Anon. Hope you'll suggest an example soon.
It's been a week, Anon.
That's two weeks, Anon.

In Frisco a candidate called South Asians āratsā and thatās the nicest thing he said. And this is a runoff, so he COULD be the next mayor. And thatās just one of the TX runoffs.
But thatās not till Saturday. On Tuesday there are Primaries in ME, NV, ND and SC. There are also elections in GA, KS and NJ.
So, get out and vote if you havenāt yet!
More info on all these races:

Hey look, the obvious happened.
You know who did stand up in court against Trump for trans kids tho? Who had her state's federal funds frozen in retaliation for it? And who still beat Trump in court and got them unfrozen? And who trans leftists didn't have her back afterward for her troubles?
Also, this is a taste of what M4A would look like when leftists hand it over to federal Republicans every four years and why nobody will ever trust them with their healthcare.
