Assalam Alaikum. I'm messaging for some advice which I'm in need of.. My dad and I don't have a good or decent relationship. Not like we are at each other's throat just we don't speak and he's not very much interested in having a daughter father relationship. I just don't see him as other dads.. But with us having this relationship, at times he is unjust and I can not stand people who are unjust to others or me and him being my father I can't do much. [1]
I most of the time feel very angry towards him and I’m afraid I’ll think bad about him/do something bad which will cause me to go to Hell.. When I know he is not being unjust then I don’t feel angry towards him and I think of the good in him. So I don’t know, what can I do? [2]
Wa Alaykum Selam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Sister, I will keep this short and simple, as I have looked for an answer for this issue for a very long time now since my situation is much worse than yours.
What you need to do is to keep treating your father with respect. If he asks of you to do something that goes against the laws of Allah you are free to disobey him. But in all other instances, continue to be kind, respectful, and caring.
Always treat him good and be careful not to hurt his feelings or disobey him, for this is a great sin and good treatment of parents is extremely important in Islam, I cannot stress this enough.
If you feel restricted by your father and think he is ”unjust” and you really can’t stand it anymore, then I advise you to get married and leave the house. But until that happens, always treat your parents well and show them the best treatment.
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I hope this message reaches all of you in the best of health and imaan.
When I had first reverted to Islam, my mom was strongly against my decision and tried at times to put many barriers between our relationship, so a friend recommended I read Surat Luqmān. After reading it I felt much better, so in-sha'Allah the same will happen for you. http://quran.com/31#0
Your relationship and the problem itself will still not be resolved if/ and when you decide to "get married and leave the house" and because of this, I recommend doing whatever you can through your power to reconcile this before you get married, because it will not go away.
This is a reminder to myself before anyone else, as my tongue is closest to my own heart; when things happen in life or people mistreat us, it is important to remember that Allah (swt) will not question us about the actions of the other person, but He (swt) will ask us about our own actions. What other people does is beyond the scope of our control, we just have to react the best way we can through what the Sunnah and Qur'an has taught us.
I will keep you in my dua'as! By the qadr of Allah, I hope your relationship will improve.
Allah knows best.
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and (also) from my offspring. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.”
Surah Ibrahim (14:40)
Al-Quran
1) WE ALWAYS ASK: Why was I TESTED?

AL-QURAN ANSWERS: " It is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing, which is bad for you. But Allah knows, while you know not." Surah Al-Baqarah [2:216]

AL-QURAN ANSWERS: "Allah does not place a burden to a soul greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns." Surah Al-Baqarah [2:286]& " So verily, with every difficulty there is relief: (repeated) Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." Surah Al-Insyirah [94:5-6]

Mashaa'Allah
I really admire the Muslim practice of praying five times a day, at designated times. That devotion to prayer is the equivalent of saying, ‘I don’t find time for God in the midst of my life. I find time for life in the midst of my God.’”

Once I read a post about how a mother passed away and the kids were eating the leftovers which would be the last food they would ever taste that was made by her hands and idk it just put things into perspective for me and every now and then I’ll remember that post whenever I’m eating my mom’s food and it makes me realize what a blessing it is to be able to eat her food whether I like it or not like idk I am just so thankful

Walid Siti, drawings from the series Precious Stones, 1997-2010 (source).
In 2008, Siti wrote: “Throughout world history and in many different societies, stone objects have served as focal points, their wealth of symbolic meaning drawing people together and reinforcing social codes. Over the last ten years I have worked on Precious Stones, a series of drawings on paper in which I have tried to explore stones from this perspective.
Prehistoric stones and natural rocks as well as carved stones in buildings have profound meanings that occasionally surpass original purpose. They become metaphors with political or spiritual associations, such as black stone of Mecca, the pyramids, various monuments and memorials, tombs, triumphal arches, and so on. The stone is universal in its symbolic role, which crosses cultures, time and place.
Precious Stones is an attempt to convey the relationships these sacred stones have with their surroundings. I place them in the centre of the drawing, where they radiate a circular motion around themselves, indicating energy and change, like the circumbulations performed around the Ka’aba or the movements of crowds in various places of veneration.” *
Every sadness will gradually diminish except the sadness over sins.

al-Albaanee: Allaah doesn’t want us to be sin free. If this was the case, then he would have created us like that. What he wants from us is that we ask Him for forgiveness after having sinned. [al-Huda wan-Noor 816]

Islam is not about, “We are better than you”. Islam is about , “Let me show you something, that is better for you”.
